Round 24 of the Premier World League Season 2026 produced a thrilling collection of results in Group D, with several major upsets and plenty of movement in the playoff race. With 24 of 62 rounds completed, there are still 38 rounds remaining, but the battle for the top 16 is becoming increasingly intense.

Qualification Picture

  • 🏆 1st–4th: World Cup of Clubs
  • 🔵 5th–16th: Playoff positions
  • 🟢 17th–22nd: Friendly Cup
  • 🟡 23rd–26th: King's Cup
  • 🔴 Bottom two: Relegation

🥇 Cusco FC Continue to Set the Pace

Cusco FC, ranked 1st, strengthened their position at the summit with an impressive 3–0 victory over Silkeborg.

The Peruvian side entered the match with four consecutive victories and delivered another dominant performance. The clean sheet makes the result even more impressive and keeps Cusco firmly in the World Cup of Clubs positions.

Silkeborg, ranked 18th, remain in the Friendly Cup zone.

🔥 Atlético Clínch a Huge Win at Bayern

One of the biggest results of Round 24 came at the top of the table, where Atlético Clínch defeated Bayern Munich 3–2.

Bayern entered the match in 6th place, while Atlético were ranked 2nd. Atlético's victory keeps them firmly inside the World Cup of Clubs places while dealing a blow to Bayern's hopes of climbing toward the top four.

Bayern remain inside the playoff zone, but the teams around them are closing in.

🇪🇸 Real Madrid Defeat Third-Place Wolfsburg

Real Madrid produced another important result, defeating Wolfsburg 3–2 at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Wolfsburg entered Round 24 ranked 3rd, while Real Madrid were 11th. The victory is therefore a major boost for Real's playoff ambitions and a setback for one of the current World Cup of Clubs contenders.

Wolfsburg remain in the top four, but their lead over the chasing pack has become increasingly vulnerable.

🏆 AEK Athens Destroy Barcelona

AEK Athens, ranked 4th, put together one of the round's most convincing victories, defeating Barcelona 4–1.

AEK entered with four wins in their previous five matches, and this dominant victory keeps them in the coveted World Cup of Clubs positions.

Barcelona, ranked 9th, suffer a significant setback but remain comfortably inside the playoff places.

⚡ PSV Eindhoven Shock DC United

Another major result came from PSV Eindhoven, who crushed DC United 4–1.

The result is particularly notable because DC United entered the match ranked 5th, firmly inside the playoff positions. PSV were down in 21st, so the victory represents a huge upset.

DC United remain inside the playoff zone despite the defeat, while PSV gain three valuable points in their attempt to move out of the Friendly Cup places.

🔵 Playoff Race: Places 5–16

The playoff battle remains wide open.

Bayern Munich suffered a 3–2 defeat to Atlético Clínch but remain 6th.

Aston Villa, ranked 7th, were involved in one of the round's most entertaining games, drawing 3–3 with San Martín. Villa will be disappointed not to collect all three points, particularly against a team ranked 23rd.

Lokomotiv Moscow, ranked 8th, produced an important 3–2 victory over Banfield. Lokomotiv's five-match form was perfect heading into the match, and the Russian club continues to look like a serious playoff contender.

Barcelona, ranked 9th, were beaten heavily by AEK, while Pyramids, ranked 10th, suffered a 3–1 loss to Deportivo Municipal, ranked 16th.

That result is particularly valuable for Deportivo Municipal, who are sitting right on the upper edge of the playoff race.

🇵🇪 Deportivo Municipal Make a Statement

Deportivo Municipal's 3–1 victory over Pyramids could be one of the most important results for the playoff race.

Municipal entered the match ranked 16th, meaning they occupy the final playoff position. Taking three points from a 10th-place opponent gives them valuable momentum and keeps the teams below them from closing the gap.

⚽ Werder Bremen Climb With Win

Werder Bremen, ranked 15th, defeated Sydney FC 2–1.

The result keeps Werder inside the playoff positions and gives them some much-needed momentum. Sydney, ranked 13th, suffer a damaging defeat in what is becoming an increasingly congested middle of the table.

🟢 Friendly Cup Battle

Positions 17–22 are currently the Friendly Cup places, and Round 24 produced plenty of important results.

PSV Eindhoven, ranked 21st, moved closer to the playoff race with their huge 4–1 victory over DC United.

Freiburg, ranked 19th, also picked up a major result, defeating Argentinos Juniors 3–2.

Silkeborg, ranked 18th, were unable to capitalize on their position after falling 3–0 to league-leading Cusco FC.

Alianza Atlético, ranked 22nd, earned a point in a 2–2 draw with Western City Wanderers. That keeps Alianza in the Friendly Cup zone.

The teams around 17th–22nd are now under increasing pressure from clubs attempting to break into the playoff places.

🟡 King's Cup Battle

The 23rd–26th positions are the King's Cup zone.

San Martín, ranked 23rd, earned an impressive 3–3 draw against Aston Villa, picking up a valuable point against a top-seven opponent.

Binacional, ranked 32nd, pulled off a major upset by defeating 24th-place Broncos 2–1. The victory is especially significant because Binacional are fighting from the bottom of the standings.

Spart..., ranked 27th, defeated 31st-place Chievo 3–2, giving themselves an important three points in the lower-table battle.

🔴 Relegation Battle

The relegation fight remains extremely tense.

Binacional, despite their 2–1 victory over Broncos, remain 32nd and are still in the bottom relegation position. However, the victory could be a turning point if they can build momentum.

Chievo, ranked 31st, lost 3–2 to Spart..., keeping them in the other relegation position.

The two clubs desperately need points as the season moves toward its halfway point.

📊 Round 24 Storyline

After 24 of 62 rounds, Group D is becoming increasingly competitive at both ends of the table.

Cusco FC remain 1st, while Atlético Clínch and Wolfsburg continue to occupy World Cup of Clubs positions. AEK Athens also strengthened their grip on 4th with a dominant victory over Barcelona.

The playoff race from 5th through 16th is wide open. DC United, Bayern Munich, Aston Villa, Barcelona, Lokomotiv Moscow and Deportivo Municipal are all fighting to maintain their positions, while PSV Eindhoven and Freiburg are among the teams attempting to break into the top 16.
