Hamburg SV picked up an impressive 4-2 victory away to FC Edmonton, while Newcastle United earned a thrilling 4-3 win over FC Tokyo in one of the highest-scoring matches of the round. Urawa Reds also came away with a big 4-3 victory over Guaraní, showing how competitive and unpredictable Group C continues to be.
Santa Tecla defeated The Strongest 2-1, while Hansa Rostock and La Calaguy played out a 2-2 draw. Another evenly matched contest saw Unión Española and Atlético Madrid finish level at 2-2.
Rosario claimed a valuable 3-2 away victory against América, and Sevilla defeated Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in another important result. Crystal Palace produced one of the standout performances of the round with a convincing 4-1 win over Juventus.

Necaxa and Zenit St. Petersburg played out an entertaining 3-3 draw, and Newell's Old Boys closed out the round with a 2-1 victory over the New York Red Bulls.
After 20 rounds, there are still 42 games remaining in the long 62-game season, meaning there is plenty of time for the Group C standings to change dramatically. The battle for the playoff positions from 1st through 16th place remains the main objective for many clubs, while the race for the top is especially important because the top four teams qualify for the World Cup of Clubs.
