🏆 League III — Group C, Round 11 Recap
Round 11 of Group C was an explosive one, producing 58 goals across 13 matches—an outstanding 4.46 goals per game. There were 11 decisive matches and only 2 draws.
The biggest story was at the top: 1st-ranked Tecos were held by 25th-ranked Marseille, while 2nd-ranked C.D. Barrio México lost to 4th-ranked Ensenada. That opens the door for several promotion contenders.
With 11 of 50 rounds completed, 39 rounds remain.
🚨 Match of the Round: Ensenada stun Barrio México
C.D. Barrio México 2–3 Ensenada F.C.
2nd vs 4th
This was arguably the most important result of the round.
2nd-ranked Barrio México suffered a 3–2 home defeat against 4th-ranked Ensenada.
This is particularly significant because both clubs entered the match in the promotion/playoff positions. Ensenada have taken a massive three points directly from one of their closest competitors.
For Barrio México, it's a costly home defeat in the race for the one automatic promotion place.
😱 League leaders held by 25th-ranked Marseille
Olympique de Marseille 1–1 Tecos F.C.
25th vs 1st
The biggest positional upset of the round ended in a draw.
Tecos entered as the league leaders, but 25th-ranked Marseille held them to 1–1.
Tecos still avoided defeat, but this is unquestionably two points dropped in the automatic-promotion race.
And because Barrio México also lost, the top of Group C could have shifted dramatically.
🔥 Alajuelense beat 3rd-ranked Tuzos
Liga Deportiva Alajuelense 3–2 Tuzos UAZ
5th vs 3rd
Another huge game involving playoff contenders.
Alajuelense, ranked 5th, defeated 3rd-ranked Tuzos UAZ 3–2.
That's a major six-pointer.
Alajuelense move closer to the automatic-promotion battle, while Tuzos miss a chance to pressure the teams above them.
The five-goal thriller also contributed to what was an extraordinarily high-scoring round.
🟢 Arsenal Kyiv strengthen their playoff credentials
FC Arsenal Kyiv 3–2 FC Kramatorsk
6th vs 8th
A very important result between two teams already inside the playoff zone.
6th-ranked Arsenal Kyiv defeated 8th-ranked Kramatorsk 3–2.
Arsenal take three valuable points and strengthen their position in the 2nd–9th playoff places.
Kramatorsk, meanwhile, remain in the playoff picture but have lost an opportunity to collect points against a direct competitor.
🇵🇱 Górnik Zabrze defeat Bukovyna
Górnik Zabrze 3–2 FSC Bukovyna Chernivtsi
24th vs 11th
Another significant upset.
11th-ranked Bukovyna were beaten away by 24th-ranked Górnik Zabrze.
Bukovyna were sitting just outside the King's Cup positions, so this was an opportunity missed to climb toward the top 10.
Górnik's three points could be especially valuable if they can turn this into a run of form.
🇩🇪 Eintracht Frankfurt beat Vojvodina
Eintracht Frankfurt 2–1 FK Vojvodina
17th vs 13th
Frankfurt came away with a narrow victory.
Neither side entered the match in a qualification position, but Frankfurt's three points give them an opportunity to begin climbing toward the cup places.
🇵🇱 Lech Poznań win a five-goal battle
Lech Poznań 3–2 FK Partizan
23rd vs 16th
Another entertaining match from the lower half of the table.
Lech scored three times to defeat Partizan 3–2.
With both teams outside the qualification places, the immediate impact on the promotion race is limited, but three points at this stage can quickly change a team's trajectory.
⚔️ Cracovia and Red Star share the points
KS Cracovia 2–2 Red Star Belgrade
10th vs 7th
A very important draw in the playoff/cup boundary.
Red Star entered the game 7th, safely inside the playoff zone, while Cracovia were 10th, occupying the Friendly Cup position.
The 2–2 draw means:
- Red Star remain in the playoff zone.
- Cracovia collect a point but don't immediately break into the top nine.
- Neither side gets the decisive advantage.
This could become an important result in the fight around positions 9–10.
🇮🇪 Drogheda United defeat Wanderers
Drogheda United 4–1 Wanderers
26th vs 14th
One of the round's biggest wins.
Drogheda, ranked 26th, demolished 14th-ranked Wanderers 4–1.
The four-goal performance was one of the strongest attacking displays of the round.
🇮🇪 Shamrock Rovers beat HFX Wanderers
Shamrock Rovers 2–1 HFX Wanderers
20th vs 20th
A closely matched game on paper, but Shamrock took all three points.
The 2–1 victory gives them an important boost as they attempt to climb away from the bottom portion of the standings.
🇺🇦 Arsenal aren't the only big winner
Hoffenheim 2–4 Bohemian F.C.
15th vs 22nd
Bohemian produced one of the round's best away performances, scoring four times against Hoffenheim.
The 4–2 victory gives Bohemian three points from a match involving two lower-ranked teams.
🇫🇷 Marseille hold the leaders
As noted above:
Marseille 1–1 Tecos
This deserves repeating because Tecos were ranked 1st.
A team sitting 25th taking a point from the league leader is exactly the kind of result that can make a 50-round season unpredictable.
🇪🇸 Numancia beat Braga
Olympique Lyonnais 2–3 C.D. Numancia
21st vs 18th
Numancia claimed an away victory in another five-goal match.
Neither side is currently in the qualification zones, but Numancia's three points help them climb toward the middle of the table.
🇵🇹 Braga defeat Supra Québec
Braga 3–2 FC Supra du Québec
19th vs 12th
Braga finished the round with another five-goal contest.
They defeated 12th-ranked Supra Québec 3–2, keeping themselves within reach of the King's Cup positions.
📊 Round 11 by the Numbers
| Category | Round 11 |
|---|---|
| Matches | 13 |
| Goals | 58 |
| Goals per match | 4.46 |
| Home wins | 7 |
| Away wins | 4 |
| Draws | 2 |
| Highest-scoring match | Drogheda 4–1 Wanderers / several 5-goal games |
| Biggest positional upset | Marseille 1–1 Tecos |
| Biggest decisive upset | Górnik Zabrze 3–2 Bukovyna |
58 goals makes this an exceptionally high-scoring round. Nine matches featured at least five total goals, and there was only one match with fewer than three goals.
🏆 Promotion Race
Round 11 has made the automatic-promotion race considerably more interesting.
🥇 1st — Direct promotion
Tecos F.C. remain the team everyone is chasing, but their 1–1 draw with 25th-ranked Marseille is a significant missed opportunity.
With 1st place the only direct route to League II, every dropped point matters.
🥈–9️⃣ — Promotion playoffs
Several major contenders were involved in decisive matches:
- 2nd Barrio México — lost 2–3
- 3rd Tuzos UAZ — lost 2–3
- 4th Ensenada — won 3–2
- 5th Alajuelense — won 3–2
- 6th Arsenal Kyiv — won 3–2
- 7th Red Star — drew 2–2
- 8th Kramatorsk — lost 2–3
- 9th position race remains tight
This was therefore a very good round for Ensenada, Alajuelense and Arsenal Kyiv, while Barrio México, Tuzos and Kramatorsk all surrendered valuable ground.
🎟️ Friendly Cup & King's Cup Battle
The area around the playoff cutoff is also becoming fascinating.
Cracovia entered Round 11 in 10th, the Friendly Cup position, and drew 2–2 with 7th-ranked Red Star.
Meanwhile:
- 11th-ranked Bukovyna lost 2–3
- 12th-ranked Supra Québec lost 2–3
- Teams below them picked up wins.
So the battle for 10th–12th is likely to become extremely fluid.
Remember:
1st → 🏆 Promotion to League II
2nd–9th → ⚔️ Promotion playoffs
10th → 🟢 Friendly Cup
11th–12th → 👑 King's Cup
13th–26th → No relegation
Because there is no relegation, the lower-ranked teams have nothing to lose by attacking—and Round 11 certainly showed that.
⭐ Round 11 Awards
🏆 Team of the Round: Ensenada F.C. — beating 2nd-ranked Barrio México away from home is enormous.
💣 Biggest shock: Marseille holding league leaders Tecos 1–1.
🔥 Best attacking display: Drogheda United, with four goals in a 4–1 victory.
📈 Biggest promotion boost: Alajuelense — beating 3rd-ranked Tuzos directly strengthens their playoff ambitions.
⚡ Best playoff result: Arsenal Kyiv 3–2 Kramatorsk.
😬 Biggest disappointment: Barrio México — a 2–3 home defeat to a direct promotion/playoff rival.
🎢 Match of the Round: Barrio México 2–3 Ensenada — huge implications at the top.
🔮 Round 11 Verdict
Group C has tightened considerably at the top.
Tecos remain the benchmark, but their draw against Marseille shows they can be caught. Barrio México's defeat is even more costly, because Ensenada took all three points while Alajuelense and Arsenal Kyiv also won.
The result is a potentially dangerous chasing pack behind the leader.
And we're only 11 rounds into a 50-round season. With 39 rounds remaining, there is an enormous amount of time for the promotion battle, the nine-team playoff race, and the Friendly/King's Cup positions to change.
Round 11's biggest winner wasn't necessarily the team that scored the most—it was Ensenada, who took three points directly from 2nd place and put themselves firmly into the promotion conversation.
