Round 21 of the Premier World League Season 2026 delivered another action-packed set of results, with several important games affecting the playoff race, World Cup of Clubs qualification battle, and the fight to avoid the lower competitions.

The three points are especially valuable for Barcelona because they are currently outside the top four but comfortably within the 1-16 playoff zone. Chievo's seventh-place? Wait — Chievo entered the match 28th, meaning this was a missed opportunity to climb away from the King's Cup area.
Bayern Munich (6th) also collected three points, beating Huracan 3-2 in another close contest. Bayern remains inside the playoff places and continues to chase a potential top-four finish.
Playoff Race: Positions 1-16
The Round 21 results produced several important developments for teams fighting to remain in the playoff positions.
Freiburg (17th) delivered one of the most significant results for the playoff race by defeating Estudiantes (12th) 2-1. Freiburg entered the round just outside the playoff line, so taking down a team already inside the top 16 could prove extremely valuable as the season progresses.

Middle of the Table
There were several tightly contested matches involving teams around the middle and lower portions of the standings.
Liverpool (16th) drew 2-2 with Atlanta Atlético (25th). Liverpool remains right on the playoff cutoff, making the dropped points particularly important. Atlanta, meanwhile, earned a valuable point in its effort to move out of the King's Cup area.

Kashima Antlers (30th) produced one of the round's biggest surprises, defeating Colo Colo (19th) 3-2. Colo Colo entered the game in the Friendly Cup positions but failed to take advantage of the matchup. Kashima's victory gives the Japanese club a much-needed boost from deep in the standings.
Relegation Pressure
The bottom two positions are the relegation spots, making every point critical for teams near the bottom.
The situation remains particularly difficult for Comunicaciones (32nd) after their 3-1 defeat to Atlético. They remain at the very bottom of the table and need a major turnaround over the remaining 41 games.
Western City Wanderers (29th) also lost a narrow 3-2 contest to league leaders Cusco FC. Although they remain outside the relegation positions, they cannot afford to allow the gap to the bottom two to grow.
