Round 10 of League III Season 2026 delivered another dramatic set of results, with several of the leading promotion contenders dropping points and the race for the top nine becoming increasingly unpredictable.
There are 50 rounds in the season, meaning 40 rounds remain, but the early standings are already taking shape. The prize at the top remains automatic promotion to League II, while teams finishing 2nd–9th qualify for the promotion playoffs. 10th earns a Friendly Cup place, and 11th–12th qualify for the King's Cup. There is no relegation from League III.
⚽ Round 10 Results
- FC Helsingør 1–4 RC Celta de Vigo — Celta produced one of the strongest performances of the round, crushing 20th-place Helsingør 4–1. The 3rd-ranked Spanish side continues its push toward automatic promotion.
- KAA Gent 3–2 Rayo Vallecano — A major upset. Bottom-ranked Gent defeated 9th-place Rayo in a five-goal thriller, dealing a blow to Rayo's playoff ambitions.
- Royal Charleroi 1–2 Villarreal — Villarreal secured an important away victory against 15th-place Charleroi. The result keeps the Spanish club firmly in the promotion picture.
- Royal Antwerp 2–3 SL Benfica — Benfica picked up three valuable points against 23rd-place Antwerp. After a difficult start to the campaign, this could be an important step toward the playoff places.
- SK Super Nova 4–2 BFC Daugavpils — Super Nova produced an excellent attacking performance, scoring four goals against 16th-place Daugavpils.
- Africa Sports 2–1 Rézeknes FA — Africa Sports continued its fight around the cup positions with a narrow victory over Rézeknes.
- Monaco 3–1 AC Horsens — Monaco bounced back strongly from its Round 9 defeat to Helsingør. The 8th-ranked club took care of 11th-place Horsens and strengthened its playoff position.
- Águilas Doradas 2–2 Hvidovre IF — A balanced contest ended in a draw, with 21st-place Águilas earning a point against 19th-place Hvidovre.
- Deportes Concepción 2–2 FC Dinamo București — A frustrating result for 8th-place Dinamo, who could only take one point against 16th-place Concepción.
- Internacional de Bogotá 3–3 AFC Unirea Slobozia — A six-goal thriller! Internacional, ranked 4th, surrendered points against 25th-place Unirea in one of the round's biggest surprises.
- Independiente Medellín 1–2 FC Gloria Buzău — Gloria Buzău pulled off another upset, defeating 13th-place Medellín on the road.
- Cúcuta Deportivo 2–4 Violette Athletic Club — Violette followed up its spectacular victory over Once Caldas in Round 9 with another major win. The 6th-ranked club scored four against 10th-place Cúcuta.
- Once Caldas 1–2 Canadian FC — The biggest story of the round. League leaders Once Caldas suffered their second consecutive defeat, losing at home to 17th-place Canadian FC.
🚨 Once Caldas Hit by Back-to-Back Defeats
The biggest development in Group B is the sudden stumble of Once Caldas.
After sitting at the top of the standings, Once Caldas lost 3–2 to Violette Athletic Club in Round 9 and then followed that with a 2–1 defeat to Canadian FC in Round 10.
Two consecutive defeats have completely changed the atmosphere around the promotion race. Once Caldas had looked like the clear favorite for automatic promotion, but the chasing teams now have an opportunity to close the gap.
Canadian FC deserves enormous credit for the result. Entering the match ranked 17th, they went into the home of the league leaders and came away with all three points.
🔥 Celta Making a Statement
While Once Caldas stumbled, RC Celta de Vigo continued to surge.
Celta's 4–1 victory over Helsingør was their second consecutive win following their 4–2 victory over the same club in Round 9. The Spanish side has now scored eight goals across its last two matches.
Entering Round 10 in 3rd place, Celta is looking increasingly dangerous in the automatic-promotion race.
🏆 Violette Continues Its Rise
Violette Athletic Club is arguably the hottest team in Group B.
After shocking Once Caldas 3–2 in Round 9, Violette followed it up by defeating Cúcuta Deportivo 4–2.
That's seven goals scored in two consecutive victories, and both wins came against teams involved in the promotion or playoff picture.
Violette entered Round 10 in 6th place, but these results put the club in an excellent position to challenge the teams above them.
⚔️ Playoff Race Gets Messier
The fight for positions 2–9 is becoming extremely competitive.
Several clubs expected to challenge for promotion dropped points:
- Internacional de Bogotá could only draw 3–3 with 25th-place Unirea.
- FC Dinamo București drew 2–2 with Concepción.
- Rayo Vallecano suffered a shock defeat to bottom-ranked Gent.
- Cúcuta Deportivo lost 4–2 to Violette.
- Monaco, however, recovered with a convincing 3–1 win.
These results are excellent news for clubs such as Benfica and Violette, who are trying to climb into the playoff positions.
🏅 Friendly Cup & King's Cup Battle
The battle outside the playoff zone is also becoming interesting.
10th-place Cúcuta Deportivo suffered a major setback against Violette, potentially allowing teams behind them to close the gap.
The 11th–12th positions qualify for the King's Cup, so the teams hovering around those places cannot afford prolonged losing streaks. Meanwhile, Africa Sports' victory provides another valuable boost to its cup ambitions.
And because there is no relegation, the lower-ranked clubs can focus entirely on climbing the table and qualifying for one of the available competitions.
