Round 6 of League III Season 2026 delivered another action-packed slate in Group C, with 12 matches producing 38 goals. Several promotion contenders strengthened their positions, while others suffered setbacks against lower-ranked opposition.

With 50 rounds in the season, there are still 44 rounds remaining. The stakes remain clear: 1st place earns automatic promotion to League II, while 2nd–9th qualify for the promotion playoffs for the second promotion spot. 10th qualifies for the Friendly Cup, and 11th–12th qualify for the King's Cup. There is no relegation from League III.

  • Braga 4–1 Shamrock Rovers — Braga produced one of the round's strongest performances, scoring four against Shamrock Rovers.
  • Olympique Lyonnais 1–3 Liga Deportiva Alajuelense — A major result at the top of the table. Alajuelense defeated 8th-place Lyon 3–1 and continued its promotion push.
  • Olympique de Marseille 2–4 C.D. Barrio México — Barrio México scored four goals away from home to beat Marseille in another entertaining contest.

👑 Tecos Hold the Top Spot

Tecos F.C. entered Round 6 ranked 1st and came through with another important victory, beating Bohemian F.C. 2–1.

The result is especially significant because the top-ranked club at the end of the 50-round campaign receives automatic promotion to League II. Tecos are therefore currently sitting in the most valuable position in Group C.

They have also shown impressive consistency early in the season, making them a team the rest of the promotion contenders will need to keep an eye on.

🔥 Alajuelense Make a Statement

Liga Deportiva Alajuelense produced arguably the most important promotion result of the round.

The team entered the match ranked 2nd and traveled to face 8th-place Olympique Lyonnais. Alajuelense came away with an impressive 3–1 victory.

That is exactly the type of result a promotion contender needs: three points against another team competing around the playoff positions.

After being held to a 1–1 draw by Marseille in Round 5, Alajuelense responded immediately and emphatically.

💥 Tuzos Defeat Partizan

The other major promotion clash saw 4th-place Tuzos UAZ defeat 6th-place FK Partizan 3–2.

It was a crucial three points for Tuzos because both clubs entered the match inside the 2nd–9th promotion-playoff zone.

Partizan will be disappointed after having already suffered a heavy defeat to Ensenada in Round 5. The club now needs to find consistency if it wants to remain among the promotion candidates.

🚀 Ensenada Keeps Rolling

Ensenada F.C. is becoming one of the most intriguing teams in Group C.

After beating Partizan 4–1 in Round 5, Ensenada followed it up with another spectacular 4–1 victory, this time against FK Vojvodina.

That's eight goals in two consecutive matches.

Entering Round 6 in 7th place, Ensenada is showing the kind of attacking form that could make them a serious threat in the promotion playoffs.

🏅 Friendly Cup & King's Cup Race

The middle of the table remains extremely congested.

Bohemian F.C. entered Round 6 in 10th, the exact position that earns Friendly Cup qualification, but their 2–1 defeat to league-leading Tecos puts pressure on the teams immediately behind them.

The 11th and 12th positions qualify for the King's Cup, meaning every point matters for the clubs around the middle of the standings.

Meanwhile, teams such as HFX Wanderers and Supra du Québec are making moves after important victories and could soon challenge for the cup positions.

📈 Six Rounds Down, 44 to Go

After six rounds, Tecos F.C. remain at the top of Group C, with Alajuelense continuing to apply pressure from the upper reaches of the table.

Tuzos UAZ, Partizan, Ensenada, Lyon and the other playoff contenders are already beginning to separate themselves from the lower half, but the gap remains small enough for the standings to change dramatically.

The biggest story may be Ensenada's explosive attack, while Alajuelense's 3–1 victory over Lyon confirms that the early promotion battle is going to be fiercely contested.

With 44 rounds still remaining, automatic promotion and the eight playoff places are very much up for grabs.
