Lokomotiv arrived with five consecutive victories, and they extended that incredible run to six matches. Beating a team sitting inside the playoff positions makes the victory even more impressive.
DC United's defeat is costly in the playoff race, as they were attempting to maintain their position among the league's leading contenders.
🌟 Wolfsburg Strengthen Their World Cup Challenge
Wolfsburg, ranked 4th, earned a convincing 3–1 victory over Sydney FC.
The German side entered with a mixed five-match record, but this victory gives them three valuable points in the race for a World Cup of Clubs place.
Sydney FC, ranked 16th, remain right on the playoff cutoff and will need to respond quickly to prevent the teams below them from closing the gap.
🇪🇸 Real Madrid Defeat Kashima Antlers
Real Madrid, ranked 9th, picked up an important 2–1 victory over Kashima Antlers, who entered the round in 25th.
For Real Madrid, the three points strengthen their position in the playoff race. Kashima, meanwhile, remain in the King's Cup zone and will need a strong run of results to climb toward the Friendly Cup places.
🔥 Barcelona Destroy Broncos
Barcelona delivered one of the round's most emphatic performances, crushing Broncos 3–1.
Barcelona entered the match ranked 10th, firmly inside the playoff positions. The result keeps them moving in the right direction after an inconsistent run of results.
Broncos, ranked 29th, remain in the lower reaches of the table and are in danger of being dragged toward the relegation fight.

One of the biggest shocks of the round came from Comunicaciones, who defeated 6th-place Bayern Munich 4–2.
Bayern entered with five wins in their previous five matches, making the defeat particularly damaging. They had been one of the hottest teams in Group D, but this result ends their perfect recent run.
Comunicaciones, ranked 31st, desperately needed the victory in their fight against relegation. It could prove to be a massive turning point in their season.
🇵🇪 Cusco FC Remain the Team to Beat
Cusco FC, the league leaders, continued their excellent campaign with a 2–1 victory over Deportivo Municipal.
Cusco entered Round 25 ranked 1st and with an outstanding five-match record. They remain firmly in the World Cup of Clubs picture.
Deportivo Municipal, ranked 14th, suffer a damaging defeat but remain within the playoff positions.
💥 San Martín Shock Estudiantes
San Martín pulled off another important lower-table result, defeating Estudiantes 3–2.
San Martín entered the match ranked 23rd, while Estudiantes were 12th. The victory therefore represents a significant upset and gives San Martín three valuable points in their attempt to escape the King's Cup places.
Estudiantes miss a chance to strengthen their playoff position.
🟢 Freiburg Continue Their Climb
SC Freiburg, ranked 18th, defeated Colo Colo 3–2.
Freiburg entered with three wins in their previous five and continue to push toward the playoff places. Sitting just outside the top 16, this victory could be an important step toward breaking into the playoff zone.
Colo Colo, ranked 15th, suffer a setback in their attempt to remain safely inside the playoffs.
🇬🇷 AEK Athens Beat Spartak
AEK Athens, ranked 9th, defeated Spartak Moscow 3–2 in another important playoff battle.
The result gives AEK three points against a team sitting in the King's Cup region and strengthens their position among the playoff contenders.
Spartak, ranked 24th, remain in the King's Cup zone.
⚽ América Edge Atlético
Atlético Clínch weren't the only team near the top to win. América, ranked 20th, defeated Atlético Clínch 3–2—wait, the Round 25 fixture shown is actually Atlético Clínch (2nd) 2–3 Chievo (32nd), making Chievo the winner.
That result deserves special attention: 32nd-place Chievo defeated second-place Atlético Clínch 3–2, producing arguably the biggest upset of the entire round. Chievo's victory gives the bottom side a huge boost, while Atlético miss a chance to strengthen their World Cup of Clubs position.
🟢 Friendly Cup Race
The 17th–22nd positions remain the Friendly Cup zone, and several teams are trying to break into the playoffs.
SC Freiburg, in 18th, strengthened their position with their 3–2 win over Colo Colo.
Alianza Atlético, ranked 22nd, were beaten 3–1 by PSV, who entered the round in 21st. That result is particularly valuable for PSV as they attempt to climb out of the Friendly Cup region.
Silkeborg, ranked 19th, drew 2–2 with Banfield, while Banfield entered in 27th. Silkeborg missed an opportunity to gain ground on the playoff teams.
🟡 King's Cup Battle
The King's Cup places are 23rd–26th, and Round 25 produced several crucial results.
San Martín, ranked 23rd, defeated 12th-place Estudiantes 3–2.
Spartak Moscow, ranked 24th, lost 3–2 to AEK Athens.
Kashima Antlers, ranked 25th, fell 2–1 to Real Madrid.
The biggest King's Cup story, however, was Chievo's stunning 3–2 victory over second-place Atlético Clínch. Chievo entered the match in 32nd, so three points against one of the league's elite could completely change their survival campaign.

The bottom of Group D became even more interesting after Round 25.
Chievo, ranked 32nd, produced the shock of the round by beating Atlético Clínch 3–2. That victory is enormous for a club fighting to escape the relegation places.
Comunicaciones, ranked 31st, also collected three points, defeating Bayern Munich 4–2.
That means both teams occupying the relegation positions entered Round 25 and both won—a remarkable development in the survival battle.
