🚨 Tecos Finally Fall

The biggest story of Round 7 was Drogheda United's 2–1 victory over Tecos F.C.

Tecos entered the match as the No. 1-ranked team, making the defeat particularly significant. After six rounds at or near the summit, the Mexican club finally suffered a setback.

Drogheda deserves tremendous credit for the result. The Irish club entered the match ranked 25th, yet managed to defeat the league leaders.

For Tecos, the loss is not disastrous with 43 rounds remaining, but it opens the door for the chasing pack.

👑 Alajuelense Take Advantage

Liga Deportiva Alajuelense, ranked 2nd entering the round, took full advantage of Tecos' stumble.

Alajuelense defeated Braga 3–2, earning three valuable points and keeping the pressure on the leaders.

This is exactly the type of result Alajuelense needs if they want to challenge for automatic promotion rather than simply settling for a playoff position.

The battle between Tecos and Alajuelense is already becoming one of the central storylines of Group C.

🔥 Barrio México Joins the Chase

C.D. Barrio México also delivered an impressive result, defeating Olympique Lyonnais 4–2.

Entering the round ranked 3rd, Barrio México showed why they are one of the early promotion favorites. Four goals against a team positioned inside the playoff places is an excellent statement.

With Tecos losing and Alajuelense and Barrio México winning, the top of the table has become significantly more interesting.

🚀 Ensenada Keeps Scoring

Another team making plenty of noise is Ensenada F.C.

After scoring four goals against Vojvodina in Round 6, Ensenada repeated the feat in Round 7, defeating Bohemian F.C. 4–1.

That's an incredible eight goals in two consecutive matches.

Ensenada entered Round 7 ranked 5th, putting them firmly inside the promotion-playoff positions. If this attacking form continues, they could become a serious threat to the clubs above them.

⚔️ Tuzos Maintain Their Momentum

Tuzos UAZ, who entered the round in 4th place, also continued their strong campaign.

Their 3–2 victory over FK Vojvodina keeps them in the playoff conversation and ensures that the top four remain tightly packed.

Tuzos have now demonstrated that they can win difficult matches, even when the margin is extremely narrow.

💥 Górnik Suffer a Costly Upset

The other major surprise was KS Cracovia's 3–2 victory over Górnik Zabrze.

Górnik entered the match ranked 6th, comfortably inside the promotion playoff zone, while Cracovia was down in 17th.

Dropping points against lower-ranked opposition is precisely the kind of result that can become costly over a 50-round season.

Cracovia, meanwhile, can use the victory as a springboard to climb toward the cup positions.

🏅 Friendly Cup & King's Cup Race

The middle of Group C remains extremely competitive.

The 10th-place team qualifies for the Friendly Cup, while 11th and 12th qualify for the King's Cup. Clubs currently outside the promotion playoff places therefore still have plenty to fight for.

The results of lower-ranked teams such as Cracovia, Marseille, Hoffenheim and Wanderers Grounds demonstrate that the bottom half is capable of taking points from clubs above them.

And because there is no relegation, every team can concentrate on climbing the table and securing the best possible competition qualification.

📈 Seven Rounds Down, 43 to Go

Round 7 has made the Group C promotion race even more intriguing.

Tecos F.C. remain the early benchmark, but their defeat to Drogheda shows that the leaders are vulnerable. Alajuelense and Barrio México took advantage, while Tuzos UAZ and Ensenada continue to strengthen their playoff credentials.

The most exciting storyline may be Ensenada's attacking explosion, with the club scoring eight goals across its last two matches.

With 43 rounds still remaining, there is no clear runaway favorite yet. But one thing is already certain: the fight for automatic promotion and the eight playoff places is going to be intense.
