🚨 Aledas IK suffer a major early setback
The biggest shock of the round came in Costa Rica, where Puntarenas F.C. defeated Aledas IK 2–1.
Aledas entered the match ranked No. 1, making this a particularly important result in the early promotion race. Puntarenas, ranked 19th, produced a statement victory and showed that the teams outside the early playoff picture cannot be overlooked.
For Aledas, the defeat means the pressure immediately increases. They still have 48 rounds remaining, but dropping points against a lower-ranked opponent could prove costly when the promotion race becomes tighter.
⚡ San Carlos knock off LDU Quito
Another major upset saw A.D. San Carlos defeat L.D.U. Quito 2–1.
LDU Quito came into the match ranked 3rd, putting them firmly among the early contenders for automatic promotion and the playoff positions. San Carlos, ranked 24th, turned the standings upside down with an impressive home victory.
It is exactly the kind of result that can make Group D extremely unpredictable.
🇧🇪 Táchira stun Genk
Deportivo Táchira F.C. produced another major result by beating K.R.C. Genk 3–2.
Genk began the match ranked 5th, putting them in the coveted playoff zone, while Táchira was ranked 9th and already sitting inside the playoff places.
The five-goal thriller went Táchira's way, giving the Venezuelan club an important three points and potentially pushing them further toward the top of the table.
🤝 Top-four battle remains wide open
There was also a fascinating contest between two highly ranked sides as Municipal Pérez Zeledón and Mushuc Runa drew 1–1.
Pérez Zeledón entered ranked 6th, while Mushuc Runa was 7th. Neither team could claim the full three points, but both remain right in the mix for the playoff positions.
Elsewhere, San Lorenzo, ranked 2nd, was held to a 2–2 draw by Anderlecht. That is another opportunity missed by one of the division's leading teams.

🎯 Dandy and Blooming pick up valuable wins
Two teams from the middle of the early standings also collected important victories.
C.D. Dandy defeated Metropolitanos 2–1, with Dandy entering the game ranked 13th and Metropolitanos 8th. That result could have significant consequences as Dandy attempts to climb toward the playoff positions.
Blooming also earned a 2–1 victory over Bentín Tacna Heroica, giving the Bolivian side three valuable points in what is likely to be a crowded middle section of the standings.
⚽ More drama at the bottom
The lower-ranked clubs refused to simply accept their positions.
CD Choloma, ranked 23rd, defeated No. 18 Zamora F.C. 3–2 in another five-goal thriller.
Meanwhile, Arameisk-Syrianska IF survived an extraordinary 4–3 battle with AIK Fotboll. Seven goals made this one of the most entertaining games of the round.
Canon Yaoundé also moved forward with a 2–1 win over No. 10 Defensa y Justicia.
