The result is especially valuable after Celta Vigo's defeat. Villarreal are now perfectly positioned to capitalize on any further slip-ups by the leaders.
They are currently in the playoff places, but the dream is obviously bigger: 1st place and direct promotion to League II.

Benfica took care of business at home.
The 2–1 victory keeps 8th-placed Benfica firmly inside the playoff positions.
