🏆 League III — Group D, Round 12 Recap
Round 12 produced another high-scoring and highly competitive set of fixtures in Group D. The big headline is clear: Blooming, the Round 11 leader, lost again, while Metropolitanos kept winning and several playoff contenders strengthened their positions.
With 12 of 50 rounds completed, 38 rounds remain, so the promotion race is still very much open.

This could be one of the most important results of the round.
2nd-ranked Metropolitanos went to 21st-ranked Puntarenas and came away with a 3–2 victory.
After beating Independiente del Valle in Round 11, Metropolitanos have now won again.
That is exactly the kind of form needed when chasing 1st place and automatic promotion to League II.
More importantly, their victory came on the same day that the leaders dropped points.

The gap at the top is therefore coming under serious pressure.

Talleres picked up another important three points.
The 3–2 victory keeps 3rd-ranked Talleres firmly in the playoff places and, more importantly, within striking distance of the automatic-promotion position.

Two wins in two rounds is exactly what they needed.

Arameisk-Syrianska took a valuable 3–2 away victory.
San Lorenzo entered the round in 11th, just outside the Friendly Cup position, so this is a particularly costly defeat for them.

This is an important three points for Defensa and a missed opportunity for Mushuc Runa to strengthen their position near the top.

A fascinating playoff battle ended level.
Both teams entered the match inside the top nine, so neither side wanted to lose.

6th-ranked Genk suffered a heavy 4–1 home defeat against 25th-ranked Canon Yaoundé.

At the same time, Bentín Tacna's 5–1 victory makes the Friendly Cup race more interesting, while Canon Yaoundé's 4–1 destruction of Genk proves once again that even teams near the bottom can dramatically affect the promotion race.
With 38 rounds still to play, nothing is settled—but after Round 12, Blooming's lead suddenly looks a lot less comfortable.
