Premier World League 2025 Group A Round 60 Recap

Premier World League – Group A Round 60 Recap

With just two rounds left in the season, the race for playoff qualification and the World Cup of Clubs spots is heating up. Round 60 brought thrilling matches, crucial wins, and heartbreaking defeats across the board.

🏆 Top of the Table Battle

Universitario (PER) continues to dominate the league, remaining at the top with 140 points after another strong performance. Their 3–1 win over Libertad (PAR) keeps them firmly on course for the World Cup of Clubs.
Cienciano (PER) stays close behind with 139 points, edging Calvary FC (CND) 3–1 to maintain pressure on the leaders.
Sporting Cristal (PER) and Valencia (SPA) both secured wins to remain third and fourth, respectively, each still within striking distance of the top spot. These four sides are now officially qualified for the World Cup of Clubs.

🔥 Playoff Zone (1–16)

The competition from fifth to sixteenth remains fierce.
Santa Fe (COL) climbed to fifth after a vital 4–2 victory over Montreal Impact (USA), while Bolognesi (PER) and Deportivo Cali (COL) held strong positions despite tough fixtures.
Barcelona (SPA) and Alianza Lima (PER) also recorded wins, strengthening their playoff credentials.

San Jose (USA) moved up to 14th following a solid 3–2 win over Cruz Azul (MEX), while Deportivo Saprissa (CTR) sits narrowly in 16th after a 3–2 loss to Southam (UK). These final playoff spots could shift dramatically in the last two rounds.

🏅 Friendly Cup Contenders (17–22)

Chelsea (UK), U de Chile (CHI), Montreal Impact (USA), Cruz Azul (MEX), Aucas (ECU), and Feyenoord (NEATH) are fighting for the Friendly Cup positions.
Chelsea’s recent inconsistency could cost them, while Montreal and Cruz Azul still have mathematical chances to push back into the playoff zone.

👑 King’s Cup Zone (23–26)

Sao Paulo (BRA), Libertad (PAR), Calvary FC (CND), and Deportivo Pereira (COL) occupy the King’s Cup range. While out of playoff contention, they’ll still have the opportunity to compete for silverware in the postseason.

⚠️ Relegation Watch

At the bottom, Danubio (URU), Pegasus (HK), and Olmedo (ECU) are in deep trouble.
Olmedo (ECU) remains last with just 52 points, and unless they win their final two matches, they are certain to drop. Pegasus is just above them but needs a miracle to survive. The final two rounds will determine which teams will be relegated.

📊 Summary

  • World Cup of Clubs Qualified: Universitario, Cienciano, Sporting Cristal, Valencia

  • Playoff Zone (1–16): Santa Fe to Deportivo Saprissa

  • Friendly Cup (17–22): Chelsea to Feyenoord

  • King’s Cup (23–26): Sao Paulo to Deportivo Pereira
