League III
Group D • Round 37 Recap
With only one match left in the 38-round season, Group D has exploded into one of the tightest promotion races yet. The top spot is now a three-way tie at 65 points, the playoff zone is locked but still shifting, and the fight for the Friendly Cup and King’s Cup places remains razor-thin.
Here’s how Round 37 shaped the table:
🔝 Promotion Race: Three-Way Tie at the Top!
1. Mushuc Runa S.C. (ECU) – 65 pts (↑1)
Jump back into 1st place on goal difference (+22). Their recent dip in form (L L L D W) hasn’t hurt them too badly—yet. If they win Round 38, promotion is theirs.
2. Bentín Tacna Heroica (PER) – 65 pts (–)
Hold 2nd, level on points with Mushuc Runa but behind on GD (+15). They remain fully alive for the automatic promotion spot.
3. Always Ready (BOL) – 65 pts (↓2)
A tough drop from first to third. Despite equal points, their GD (+13) puts them behind the top two. Still absolutely in the title hunt with one game to go.
🔥 Strong Playoff Contenders
4. Club Destroyers (BOL) – 65 pts
Yes—another team at 65 points! Destroyers are level with the top three but sit 4th due to goal difference (+11). They can’t earn direct promotion unless chaos happens above—but a high playoff seed is certain.
5. Blooming (BOL) – 64 pts (↓1)
Just one point behind the leaders. They can’t reach 1st unless others stumble, but they’re locked into the playoffs and looking very competitive.
6. L.D.U. Quito (ECU) – 64 pts
Stay steady at 64 points and remain a major threat in the upcoming playoff tournament.
7. Club Plaza Colonia (URU) – 57 pts
Comfortably holding 7th and secure in the playoff zone.
8. Independiente del Valle (ECU) – 56 pts
Pick up key points and climb back into 8th. Regardless of Round 38, they’re playoff-bound.
9. San Lorenzo de Almagro (ARG) – 56 pts
Drop to 9th but remain inside the final playoff position. Their GD (–1) leaves them vulnerable to movement but not to falling out of the playoffs.
The playoff field (2nd–9th) is officially set.
🎟 Cup Qualification Battles
10. Deportivo Táchira (VEN) – 54 pts (↑1)
Move into 10th, now holding the Friendly Cup qualification spot. Their win in Round 37 was crucial.
11. Zamora F.C. (VEN) – 54 pts (↑1)
Jump to 11th and into the King’s Cup zone. They’re tied with Táchira but trail on goal difference (–7 vs –11).
12. Talleres de Córdoba (ARG) – 52 pts (↓3)
Drop to 12th but still hold the final King’s Cup position. Their form has cooled at a bad time.
Round 38 will decide whether these three swap places again.
