League III 2025 Group B Round 34 Recap

League III – Group B Round 34 Recap

Round 34 delivered another tense and pivotal set of results in Group B, with the race for promotion, the playoff zone, and the remaining Cup qualification spots tightening dramatically as we head into the final four rounds of the season. Let’s break down the current state of the table.

🔝 Promotion Race

1st – RC Celta de Vigo (60 pts) ▲ +1

Celta reclaim the top spot after a strong run of form, going W W W W D in their last five. Their home performances have been especially dominant, and they now control their own destiny for direct promotion to League II.

2nd – Rayo Vallecano (60 pts) ▼ –1

Rayo drop from the top on goal difference despite staying level on points. Their recent form has been solid but not flawless, and with Celta surging, the pressure is now firmly on them in the final stretch.

🎯 Playoff Zone (Ranks 2–9)

Teams ranked 2 through 9 qualify for the playoffs for the second promotion spot. The battle here is extremely tight.

3rd – C.D. Santa Clara (60 pts)

Three teams now sit tied on 60 points, with Santa Clara staying firmly in the mix. Their recent form is mixed, but they remain dangerous both home and away.

4th – FC Helsingør (59 pts)

Helsingør stay just one point behind the leaders but drop points with a W D L L L run. They remain in a strong position but desperately need momentum back.

5th – Villarreal CF (58 pts)

A big week keeps Villarreal just two points off the top. Their home form is carrying them, and they continue to apply pressure on the leaders.

6th – Canadian (57 pts)

One of the more underrated sides this season, Canadian remain consistent and well balanced. Their away form has improved dramatically in recent weeks.

7th – FC Gloria Buzău (56 pts)

A solid climb into the upper playoff tier. Their defensive stability helps them grind out points when needed.

8th – Royal Charleroi S.C. (55 pts)

Charleroi maintain their playoff position despite recent inconsistency. Their home strength remains their lifeline.

9th – Hvidovre IF (54 pts)

Hvidovre stay inside the final playoff spot but are showing alarming signs with L W L W L in their last five. They are one bad round away from being overtaken.

🏆 Friendly Cup Qualification

10th – FC Porto (50 pts)

Porto remain comfortably in 10th, the last Friendly Cup spot, but their recent form is concerning. They’re still safe for now, but the teams behind them are closing in.

⚔️ King’s Cup Zone (11th–12th)

11th – AFC Unirea Slobozia (46 pts)

Unirea hold a four-point cushion over 13th place but remain outside both playoff and Friendly Cup contention. Their path is narrowing, but late-season surges have happened before.

12th – FC Dinamo București (42 pts)

Dinamo remain steady in the King’s Cup positions. They’ve shown fight recently and could still chase 10th if they find consistent form.

📉 Lower Table (No Relegation)

While there’s no relegation in League III, the bottom half remains as competitive as ever:

  • 13. Rēzeknes FA/BJSS (40 pts)

  • 14. SK Super Nova (39 pts)

  • 15. KAA Gent (39 pts)

  • 16. AC Horsens (39 pts)

  • 17. Royal Antwerp F.C. (37 pts)

  • 18. BFC Daugavpils (35 pts)

  • 19. S.L. Benfica (34 pts)

  • 20. Violette AC (26 pts) – Continuing their struggles, but showing occasional flashes of improvement.

Several of these teams are still close enough to threaten Dinamo or even Porto if they put together a strong run in the final four rounds.

🔮 Final Four Rounds Outlook

  • The top three are tied at 60 points, making this the tightest promotion race across all groups.

  • Only 6 points separate 3rd from 9th, meaning the entire playoff picture can flip at any moment.

  • Porto (10th) and Unirea (11th) are set up for a dramatic showdown for the final Friendly Cup spot.

Round 35 promises to bring even more drama as every team fights to secure its place before the season ends.
