League III – Group C Round 36 Recap
Only two rounds remain, and Group C has erupted into one of the tightest promotion and playoff races of the season. Round 36 delivered massive shifts at the top, critical wins in the middle, and serious tension in the fight for the cup qualification spots.
🔝 Top of the Table – Promotion Race (1st Place)
Bayer 04 Leverkusen (GER) have returned to the top spot with 70 points, reclaiming control of the automatic promotion position with just two matches left. Their strong attack (119 goals scored) continues to make the difference.
However, this race is far from over:
-
Limón F.C. (CTR) stay in 2nd on 70 points, just behind Leverkusen on goal difference.
-
Red Star Belgrade (SER) remain right there with 69 points, keeping the top three within a single point of each other.
-
C.D. Barrio México (CTR) stay alive with 67 points after a setback but still have a path to the title if results swing their way.
Any of the top four could still finish 1st, setting up one of the most dramatic finishes in League III history.
🔥 Playoff Zone (2nd–9th)
With four teams still chasing 1st place, positions 2–9 are absolute chaos:
Currently in playoff positions
-
Limón F.C. – 70 pts
-
Red Star Belgrade – 69 pts
-
Barrio México – 67 pts
-
FK Vojvodina – 65 pts
-
Shamrock Rovers – 54 pts (big jump this round)
-
Lech Poznań – 54 pts (down but still in)
-
FC Arsenal Kyiv – 51 pts
-
Alajuelense – 51 pts
Shamrock Rovers delivered one of the round's standout performances and leapfrogged into 6th.
Lech Poznań continue to slide after another poor result, but remain inside.
Arsenal Kyiv and Alajuelense are neck and neck at 51—and either could still fall out of the top nine.
Just outside:
10. Drogheda United – 48 pts
11. Kramatorsk – 47 pts
12. Hoffenheim – 46 pts
All three are still mathematically alive but will need help from above.
⚪ Friendly Cup (10th Place)
Drogheda United (IRL) hold onto 10th with 48 points, keeping the Friendly Cup berth for now. But their poor form (LLWDL) puts them at real risk of being overtaken.
🏆 King’s Cup (11th–12th)
Current occupants:
11. FC Kramatorsk – 47 pts
12. TSG 1899 Hoffenheim – 46 pts
Both remain locked in a tight mini-battle for the King's Cup spots. Any slip could send them down or propel them up into the Friendly Cup.
📉 Lower Table (No Relegation)
The bottom eight positions are unchanged, with teams playing for pride:
-
Eintracht Frankfurt, FK Partizan, and KS Cracovia continue struggling, all posting negative goal differentials.
-
Bohemian F.C. (IRL) briefly showed life but fall to 17th after another defeat.
-
FSC Bukovyna Chernivtsi, Marseille, and Lyon remain stuck at the bottom, with Lyon sitting on just 13 points and the league’s worst defense (-98 GD).
🔚 Final Two Rounds Incoming
With:
-
1 point separating the top 3,
-
Playoff spots up for grabs,
-
Cup placements unsettled,
Round 37 and 38 will determine everything.
Get ready—this finish is going to be wild.
