League III 2025 Group A Round 38 Recap

League III – Group A Final Round (Round 38) Recap

The 2025 League III Group A season has officially concluded, and Round 38 delivered the final twists needed to settle promotion, playoffs, and cup qualification. With all 38 matches played, here’s how everything unfolded:

🏆 PROMOTED TO LEAGUE II

Vancouver Whitecaps FC (CND) – 77 pts

The Canadian side finishes the season on top, sealing automatic promotion with a 3-point margin. Their dominance was clear—24 wins, 5 draws, 9 losses, and a league-best 141 goals scored. Vancouver now moves up to League II.

⚔️ PLAYOFF QUALIFIERS (2nd–9th)

The race was intense to the very end, but these eight clubs will now compete for the second promotion spot:

  1. Deportivo Garcisalo (PER) – 76 pts

  2. Pirata FC (PER) – 72 pts

  3. Chaco Petrolero (BOL) – 67 pts

  4. Excelsior Rotterdam (NEATH) – 66 pts

  5. Toronto FC (CND) – 58 pts

  6. Deportes Iquique (CHI) – 57 pts

  7. Club Deportivo Palestino (CHI) – 57 pts

  8. Audax Italiano (CHI) – 57 pts

The mid-table battle was razor close—three teams tied at 57 points, separated only by goal difference. Chile dominates the playoff zone with 3 qualified clubs.

🤝 FRIENDLY CUP QUALIFIER

10. FC Akron Tolyatti (RUS) – 56 pts

A strong close to the season keeps Akron inside the top 10. They’ll head to the Friendly Cup as the final team outside the playoff spots.

👑 KING’S CUP QUALIFIERS (11th–12th)

  1. Dynamo Moscow (RUS) – 52 pts

  2. Casa Sports (SEN) – 52 pts

Both teams survived the late push from clubs below and will enter the King’s Cup. Dynamo edges Casa only on goal difference.

📉 NO RELEGATION

Although the bottom of the table suffered rough seasons—especially Shandong and Guangzhou—no teams are relegated in League III. They’ll have the chance to rebuild and return stronger next season.

Notable bottom finish:
20. Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao (CHN) – just 5 points, 34 goals scored, 175 conceded.

🔚 FINAL THOUGHTS

  • Vancouver seals promotion and leaves the rest to fight in the playoffs

  • Peru places two teams in the top three

  • Chile places three teams in the playoffs

  • Russia lands three teams in the top 12 across all competitions

  • The playoff bracket promises chaos with only 1 point separating 6th–9th

The season is over—but the drama is just beginning. Playoffs and cup competitions await!
