League III 2025 Group A Round 36 Recap

🏆 League III – Group A Round 36 Recap

Only two rounds remain in the League III season, and Round 36 delivered huge swings in the standings. The title fight, playoff race, and cup qualification spots are all heating up as clubs make their final push.

🔝 PROMOTION RACE

1️⃣ Vancouver Whitecaps FC (CND) – 71 pts

Vancouver’s form has cooled with back-to-back losses, and their once comfortable lead has now disappeared. With 71 points, they remain top only due to goal difference—but the title and direct promotion are suddenly in jeopardy.

2️⃣ Deportivo Garcilaso (PER) – 71 pts

Garcilaso continues their incredible climb, winning again and pulling level on points with Vancouver. They are the clear form team heading into the final stretch. If Vancouver slips again, Garcilaso may steal the League III crown.

Promotion Race Outlook:
Both clubs sit on 71 points with two games left. This battle is officially a coin toss.

⚔️ PLAYOFF POSITIONS (Ranks 2–9)

These eight clubs will contest the playoffs for the second promotion spot.

3️⃣ Pirata FC (PER) – 68 pts

Pirata remains a dominant force and nearly secured the #2 seed. A guaranteed playoff presence.

4️⃣ Chaco Petrolero (BOL) – 64 pts

A big jump this round as Chaco climbs into 4th. Their home form (13–3–2) has been elite.

5️⃣ Excelsior Rotterdam (NEATH) – 62 pts

Slip in form (L D L W L) keeps them stuck at 62 points but still safe in the playoff pod.

6️⃣ Audax Italiano (CHI) – 56 pts

Audax wins and climbs into 6th. They look solid heading into the final weeks.

7️⃣ Deportes Iquique (CHI) – 54 pts

Despite a loss, Iquique remains in playoff position but needs to be careful—Casa Sports is gaining ground.

8️⃣ Club Deportivo Palestino (CHI) – 53 pts

Palestino is hanging onto a playoff spot. Their away issues (–13 GD) remain a concern.

9️⃣ Toronto FC (CND) – 52 pts

Toronto’s inconsistent form continues, but they hold onto the last playoff spot—barely. Only three points separate them from Casa Sports.

😮 JUST OUTSIDE THE PLAYOFFS – THE FINAL BATTLE

10️⃣ Casa Sports (SEN) – 51 pts (Friendly Cup spot)

Casa Sports is the first club outside the playoff line and holds the Friendly Cup berth for 10th place. Their late-season push has been impressive, and they are now only one point behind Toronto for the final playoff position.

11️⃣ FC Akron Tolyatti (RUS) – 49 pts (King’s Cup spot)

Akron rises to 11th and claims a King’s Cup slot. A strong win this round keeps them mathematically alive for a playoff miracle, though they’d need help.

12️⃣ Dynamo Moscow (RUS) – 49 pts (King’s Cup spot)

Dynamo drops from 11th to 12th after another loss. They remain in a King’s Cup spot but have lost four of their last five. They will need to reverse form quickly to avoid slipping to 13th.

🏰 KING’S CUP QUALIFICATION (11–12)

Currently held by:

  • 11th – FC Akron Tolyatti (RUS) – 49 pts

  • 12th – Dynamo Moscow (RUS) – 49 pts

Both are safe for now, but CSKA Moscow sits only two points behind.

➡️ MID-TABLE & LOWER TABLE NOTES

While there is no relegation, several clubs continue their late-season form battles:

  • 13th – PFC CSKA Moscow (RUS) (47 pts) is close to moving into the King’s Cup qualification zone.

  • 14th – AZ Alkmaar (NEATH) and 15th – SC Heerenveen (NEATH) continue declining with multiple losses.

  • Atlético Ottawa and ASCE La Lingueré are locked in the lower tier but performing better than earlier in the season.

  • Guangzhou Evergrande remain bottom with a –124 goal differential.

🔥 FINAL TWO ROUNDS PREVIEW

  • TITLE + PROMOTION RACE:
Vancouver (71) vs. Garcilaso (71) — a dramatic two-team duel to the finish.

  • PLAYOFF BATTLE:
Toronto (52), Palestino (53), Iquique (54), Audax (56) must hold off Casa Sports (51).

  • CUP QUALIFICATION:
Akron and Dynamo are holding 11th & 12th but face pressure from CSKA.

The season is reaching boiling point. Round 37 is going to be explosive.
