⭐ Group D – Round 34 Recap (League III)
With just four rounds left in the season, the race for the automatic promotion spot, the playoff berths, and the final cup qualification places is heating up. Round 34 brought important results that shaped the picture at the top and middle of the table.
🔝 Promotion Race
1st – L.D.U. Quito (ECU) – 62 pts
L.D.U. Quito remain firmly in control at the top of the standings after extending their excellent form. Their last five matches (W W W L D) show they are still the strongest team in the group, with the league’s best attack (75 goals) and best defense (8 goals conceded at home).
They remain the clear favorites for the one automatic promotion spot.
🔥 Playoff Zone (2nd–9th)
These teams are fighting for the eight playoff spots to earn the second promotion place.
2nd – Bento Tacna Heroica (PER) – 59 pts
A strong side all year. Their away form dipped recently with two straight away losses, but they remain safely inside the playoff zone.
3rd – Mushuc Runa S.C. (ECU) – 59 pts
Level on points with 2nd place, but Mushuc Runa’s recent inconsistency (W D L W D) has kept them from challenging the leaders. Still a solid playoff contender.
4th – Always Ready (BOL) – 59 pts
Three straight losses in their last five put pressure on their playoff position, but they remain tied for 2nd through 4th in points. They need a rebound soon.
5th – Club Destroyers (BOL) – 58 pts
Only one win in their last five (W L D D L). Their goal difference is strong, but they are at risk of dropping in the table if form doesn’t improve.
6th – San Lorenzo de Almagro (ARG) – 56 pts
Solid defensively with 40 goals conceded, but draws have slowed them down (D D D D D at home recently). A playoff spot is likely but not guaranteed.
7th – Blooming (BOL) – 55 pts
A very streaky team. Their away record is poor but recent wins have kept them inside the top eight.
8th – Plaza Colonia (URU) – 55 pts
Inconsistent but competitive. Two wins in their last five help maintain their playoff push.
9th – Independiente del Valle (ECU) – 54 pts
Very close to the edge of the playoff line. With a strong attack (59 goals scored), they remain dangerous. Their final four matches will define their season.
→ All playoff positions from 2nd to 9th remain extremely tight, separated by only five points. One bad week could drop a team several spots.
🎟 Cup Qualification Zone
10th – Talleres de Córdoba (ARG) – 50 pts → Friendly Cup Spot
Currently holding the one and only Friendly Cup qualification place. Their last five matches (L W L L L) show poor momentum, and Deportivo Táchira is closing in quickly. Their spot is far from secure.
11th – Deportivo Táchira F.C. (VEN) – 48 pts → King's Cup
A solid home record keeps them in contention for the Friendly Cup zone. Their last five away matches have been rough, but improving this could push for 10th.
12th – Defensa y Justicia (ARG) – 47 pts → King’s Cup
Three straight draws in their last five. Not in danger of dropping out of 12th, but also not pushing upward strongly.
📉 Bottom of the Table (No Relegation)
Though there is no relegation in League III, the lower teams continue battling for form and pride.
Metropolitanos, Zamora, Bucha, Armenian-Syrianska, Atlético Fénix, AIK Fotboll, Anderlecht, Aledals IK
These clubs range from 45 to 28 points. Several have struggled with long losing streaks or defensive problems, but they have four more rounds to climb the standings and finish strong.
