League III 2025 Group D Round 27 Recap

League III – Group D: Round 27 Recap

The battle in Group D continues to deliver excitement, as the Ecuadorian clubs keep setting the pace while the rest of the table fights to stay within reach of the playoff zone. With just 11 rounds left in the season, every point is crucial.

🥇 Mushuc Runa S.C. (ECU)

Mushuc Runa stay top of the table with 53 points after another impressive run of results. Their attack has been sharp — 73 goals scored, the highest in the group — and their home form remains dominant. With a 4-game winning streak, they are in prime position for automatic promotion to League II.

🥈 San Lorenzo de Almagro (ARG)

The Argentine powerhouse holds second place with 49 points, keeping the pressure on the leaders. San Lorenzo’s balance between defense and attack has been impressive, and they remain firm favorites to secure a promotion playoff spot. Their next clash could be key in chasing Mushuc Runa.

🥉 L.D.U. Quito (ECU)

In third with 47 points, LDU Quito remain solid contenders. Their consistent performances both home and away have kept them near the top all season. They’re unbeaten in their last five, showing the kind of stability that could propel them higher.

🔹 Independiente del Valle (ECU)

Another Ecuadorian team in form — Independiente sit fourth with 46 points and a strong +20 goal difference. They’ve been especially tough at home and continue to look like a dangerous playoff side capable of a late surge.

🔹 Bentin Tacna Heroica (PER)

The Peruvian side holds fifth place on 45 points after a solid spell. They’ve proven capable of upsetting higher-ranked teams and will be aiming to climb further into the top four in the coming rounds.

⚔️ Playoff Race Heating Up

  • Always Ready (BOL) sit sixth on 45 points, matching Bentin but slightly behind on goal difference. Their strong away form keeps them competitive.

  • Club Destroyers (BOL) follow in seventh with 42 points, still firmly in the playoff hunt.

  • Plaza Colonia (URU) (41 pts) and Blooming (BOL) (42 pts) round out the top nine, but the margin between them and tenth is razor thin — one bad week could change everything.

🏆 Friendly Cup Zone

  • Deportivo Táchira F.C. (VEN) occupy 10th place with 38 points, holding the Friendly Cup qualification spot. They’ve had uneven form lately, but a recent win helps them stay ahead of the mid-table pack.

👑 King’s Cup Zone

  • Talleres de Córdoba (ARG) (36 pts) and Metropolitanos F.C. (VEN) (36 pts) currently hold the King’s Cup qualifying positions. Both teams are capable of climbing higher, especially if they find consistent scoring form in the coming weeks.

⚠️ Lower Table Situation

  • Zamora F.C. (VEN) and Defensa y Justicia (ARG) are struggling just below mid-table, trying to stay clear of danger.

  • Bucha (UKR) and Centro Atlético Fénix (URU) sit deep in the bottom half, unable to find rhythm this season.

  • AIK Fotboll (SWE) and Arameisk-Syrianska IF (SWE) are both enduring rough campaigns with defensive issues holding them back.

  • Aledals IK (SWE) (27th) and R.S.C. Anderlecht (BE) (20 pts, -67 GD) round out the table — with Anderlecht’s collapse marking one of the toughest seasons seen in League III Group D.

🔮 Looking Ahead

With 11 rounds to go, Mushuc Runa look destined for promotion, but the battle for the playoff positions (2nd–9th) remains wide open, with just eight points separating second from ninth. Every result from now on could reshape the top nine — and even the King’s Cup race isn’t settled yet.
