League III 2025 Group D Round 28 Recap

League III Group D – Round 28 Recap

With only ten games left in the season, Group D is shaping up for a thrilling finish. The top spots are tightly contested, and the battle for playoff qualification is heating up, while the bottom teams face mounting relegation pressure.

🏆 Top of the Table

San Lorenzo de Almagro (ARG) stay on top with 51 points, extending their fine run of form and edging closer to the automatic promotion spot. Their defense has been rock solid, and they’ve now gone five matches unbeaten, showing the consistency needed to reach League II.

Mushuc Runa S.C. (ECU) trail closely in second with 50 points, just one behind the leaders. They’ve been nearly flawless at home and remain one of the most balanced sides in the league.

L.D.U. Quito (ECU) round out the top three with 48 points, keeping Ecuador strongly represented near the summit. Despite a recent draw, they remain firmly in the hunt for the playoff push—or even the title if results go their way.

🔥 Playoff Zone (2nd–9th)

Independiente del Valle (ECU) (4th, 47 pts) and Club Destroyers (BOL) (5th, 46 pts) are still very much in contention, each showcasing dynamic attacking football.

Always Ready (BOL) (6th, 46 pts) have matched Destroyers in points but suffered from defensive lapses that have cost them crucial wins.

Bentin Tacna Heroica (PER) (7th, 45 pts) and Blooming (BOL) (8th, 45 pts) are tied just below, both riding inconsistent runs that could decide their playoff fates in the next few rounds.

Club Plaza Colonia de Deportes (URU) (9th, 42 pts) complete the playoff zone after slipping slightly due to recent draws and defeats.

🤝 Friendly Cup Qualification (10th)

Deportivo Táchira F.C. (VEN) occupy the Friendly Cup spot with 37 points, holding off several challengers. Their defense has been strong at home, but away form remains a concern.

👑 King’s Cup Zone (11th–12th)

Both Zamora F.C. (VEN) and Metropolitanos F.C. (VEN) are locked on 37 points, sitting in the King’s Cup slots. Venezuela’s trio of teams (including Táchira) are tightly packed in mid-table, showing how evenly matched their domestic rivals are this season.

⚔️ Mid-Table and Relegation Battle

Defensa y Justicia (ARG) (13th, 36 pts) and Talleres de Córdoba (ARG) (14th, 36 pts) are just below the cup zone and could still climb with a strong finish.

Bucha (UKR) (15th, 32 pts) and Centro Atlético Fénix (URU) (16th, 29 pts) are struggling to find consistency, their negative goal differences reflecting defensive weaknesses.

AIK Fotboll (SWE) (17th, 29 pts) and Arameisk-Syrianska IF (SWE) (18th, 27 pts) continue to slide toward danger, both needing urgent turnarounds.

At the bottom, Aledals IK (SWE) (19th, 23 pts) and R.S.C. Anderlecht (BEL) (20th, 23 pts) are deep in the relegation zone, each with just five wins and poor away records. Both clubs are running out of time to save their League III status.
