Premier World League 2025 Group D Round 60 Recap

Group D – Round 60 Recap

Group D has become one of the most competitive in the league, with the top seven teams all still mathematically in contention for a World Cup of Clubs berth. Meanwhile, the middle of the table is tightly packed, and the relegation zone remains volatile.

🏆 Top of the Table

Werder Bremen (GER) continues their impressive run, sitting in 1st place with 126 points and a remarkable +53 goal differential. Their consistency both home and away (30 wins in 60 matches) puts them in prime position to secure the Group D title.

Pyramids FC (EGY) rise to 2nd (126 pts) after another dominant performance, level on points with Bremen but just slightly behind on goals. They’ve been one of the league’s most balanced teams on both ends of the pitch.

DC United (USA) drop slightly to 3rd (125 pts) but remain only one point off the leaders. Their attack continues to be deadly (193 goals scored — among the best in the entire league).

Bayern Munich (GER) rounds out the top four (125 pts) — all four leading teams separated by a single point. These sides are the current favorites to qualify for the World Cup of Clubs, but there’s absolutely no room for error with two games left.

🔥 Playoff Zone (Ranks 1–16)

Behind the top four, several strong contenders are still pushing hard:

  • Cusco FC (PER) (5th, 125 pts) and AEK Athens (GRE) (6th, 125 pts) are right in the thick of the title and World Cup race, trailing by just one point.

  • Sydney FC (NZ) (7th, 125 pts) and Real Madrid (SPA) (8th, 124 pts) complete an unbelievable seven-team cluster at the top — all within two points of first place!

  • Wolfsburg (GER) (9th, 124 pts) remains in playoff position and still within striking distance of a top-four finish.

  • Deportivo Municipal (PER) (10th, 98 pts) and Argentino Juniors (ARG) (11th, 88 pts) are holding steady in the middle of the playoff zone.

  • SC Freiburg (GER) (12th, 84 pts) and Liverpool (UK) (13th, 83 pts) are also poised to advance, but a late slip could drop them to the Friendly Cup zone.

  • Estudiantes (ARG) (14th, 80 pts), Alianza Atlético (PER) (15th, 78 pts), and Atlético Ciclón (BOL) (16th, 77 pts) round out the final playoff places.

The difference between 8th and 16th is minimal, so Round 61 could see massive reshuffling.

🤝 Friendly Cup Zone (Ranks 17–22)

Teams in this bracket still have much to play for:

  • Silkeborg (DK) (17th, 76 pts) and San Martín (PER) (18th, 73 pts) are right on the playoff edge and could sneak in with a strong Round 61.

  • Colo Colo (CHI) (19th, 128 GF, -4 GD) has been inconsistent but can still climb higher.

  • Broncos (HON) (20th, 123 GF, -65 GD) and César Vallejo (PER) (21st, 118 GF, -70 GD) both remain competitive but need late miracles to break into playoff range.

  • Spartmani (MC) (22nd, 120 GF, -42 GD) close out the Friendly Cup qualifiers, still at risk of dropping to the King’s Cup if results don’t go their way.

👑 King’s Cup Zone (Ranks 23–26)

These teams will currently feature in the King’s Cup:

  • Lokomotiv Moscow (RUS) (23rd), Binacional (PER) (24th), Comunicaciones (GT) (25th), and PSV (NEA) (26th).

  • All four have struggled to find momentum, and any improvement now is likely too late to reach the Friendly Cup zone.

⚠️ Relegation Battle (Bottom Two)

The bottom of the table remains grim:

  • Real Sociedad (SPA) (32nd, 54 pts) and Western City Wonderers (NZ) (31st, 56 pts) occupy the relegation spots.

  • Both teams have lost their last matches, and with only two games left, their survival hopes are fading.

  • Huracán (URU) and Chievo (ITA), just above them, will need to stay alert to avoid being dragged into danger.

📊 Key Takeaways

  • A seven-way tie at the top makes Group D the tightest title race in the league.

  • Werder Bremen, Pyramids FC, DC United, and Bayern Munich currently hold World Cup of Clubs positions, but any of the next three teams could replace them.

  • The playoff cutoff (16th–17th) remains razor-thin, meaning Round 61 could completely shift the postseason lineup.

  • Relegation appears nearly decided, with Real Sociedad and El Nacional almost certain to drop.
