🏆 League III Group B – Round 28 Recap
With just ten rounds left in the season, the battle for promotion and playoff spots is heating up. Every point counts as teams jostle for position in a very tight table.
Top of the Table
FC Gloria Buzău (ROU) hold onto first place with 50 points, keeping their hopes alive for direct promotion to League II. They’ve been consistent both home and away, despite a recent draw slowing their momentum.
RC Celta de Vigo (SPA) are just one point behind on 49, matching Villarreal CF on both points and wins but holding the edge on goal difference. Villarreal CF in third, also with 49 points, remain firmly in the chase for the top spot. All three teams look set for a thrilling promotion race.
Playoff Zone (2nd–9th)
From Celta de Vigo (2nd) down to Hvidovre IF (8th), the standings are tight. FC Helsingør (4th) and Rayo Vallecano (5th) sit only a few points off the leaders, showing solid home records but occasional slip-ups on the road. C.D. Santa Clara (6th) and Canadaru (7th) continue to hover comfortably inside playoff qualification, while Hvidovre IF (8th) are battling to stay ahead of Royal Charleroi (9th).
The playoff race is so close that a single win or loss could shuffle several teams around.
Friendly Cup Qualification (10th)
FC Porto (POR) currently occupy the Friendly Cup spot with 41 points, performing decently but struggling to break into the playoff zone. They’ll need a strong finish to challenge the top nine.
King’s Cup Zone (11th–12th)
Dinamo București (11th) and Unirea Slobozia (12th) are holding onto King’s Cup positions with 38 and 37 points respectively. Both sides have shown resilience at home but need better away form to avoid being dragged into the lower half.
Lower Half Battles
AC Horsens (13th), Super Nova (14th), and BFC Daugavpils (15th) are stuck in the mid-lower table, inconsistent and in danger of slipping further down.
Royal Antwerp (16th), Benfica (17th), and Rēzeknes FA/BJSS (18th) sit precariously close to the bottom zone. Their defenses have been leaky, and points are becoming harder to find.
Bottom Zone
At the bottom, KAA Gent (19th) and Violette Athletic Club (20th) occupy the bottom spots, both struggling badly with defensive issues. Gent’s -36 goal difference and Violette’s -51 highlight how tough this campaign has been for them. They’ll need miracles to survive.
