League III 2025 Group C Round 27 Recap

League III – Group C: Round 27 Recap

As Round 27 wraps up, the battle for promotion and playoff qualification in Group C is intensifying. The German powerhouse Bayer 04 Leverkusen continues to lead the pack, while the fight for the remaining playoff spots grows tighter every week.

🥇 Bayer 04 Leverkusen (GER)

Leverkusen remain firmly at the top with 60 points, holding a strong 5-point lead. Their combination of attacking brilliance (65 goals scored) and disciplined defense has made them the clear favorites for automatic promotion to League II. With three wins in their last five, they’re maintaining control as the season heads into its final stretch.

🥈 Limón F.C. (CTR)

The Costa Rican club continues to impress, sitting second with 55 points. They’ve shown consistent away form and remain the closest challenger to Leverkusen. Their defense has been key to staying in contention, and they look poised for a deep promotion playoff run.

🥉 Red Star Belgrade (SER)

Red Star holds third on 48 points, still a dangerous force in the group. Despite a few recent slip-ups, their solid +12 goal difference keeps them well within the playoff zone. A late-season push could see them challenge for second place.

🔹 FK Vojvodina (SER)

Vojvodina matches Red Star on 46 points and has quietly built momentum. Their attack has been lively, and they’ve proven hard to beat at home. They’re currently 4th, well within the promotion playoff range.

🔹 C.D. Barrio México (CTR)

Rounding out the top five, Barrio México also sits on 46 points, staying competitive with the Serbian clubs above them. Their strong recent form — just one loss in the last five — keeps them firmly in the playoff chase.

⚔️ Mid-table Mix

  • Lech Poznań (POL) and Shamrock Rovers (IRL) both sit at 46 points, creating a four-way tie for playoff positions. Every point now counts for these teams as they fight to solidify their spots in the top nine.

  • TSG Hoffenheim (GER) follow with 39 points, and while a playoff berth seems distant, a strong run could still pull them into contention.

  • Arsenal Kyiv (UKR) sit 9th on 38 points, holding onto the final playoff position, but face increasing pressure from below.

🏆 Friendly Cup Zone

  • Liga Deportiva Alajuelense (CTR) currently occupy 10th place with 37 points, putting them on course for the Friendly Cup. Their defense remains a concern, but their recent wins have kept them from slipping further.

👑 King’s Cup Zone

  • FC Kramatorsk (UKR) and KS Cracovia (POL), in 11th and 12th respectively, are holding the King’s Cup qualification spots. Both teams have had inconsistent form and will need to stabilize if they want to aim higher before season’s end.

⚠️ Lower End Struggles

The bottom half of the table is shaping into a tense survival battle:

  • Drogheda United, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Bohemians F.C. all hover in the lower mid-table, struggling to string wins together.

  • Górnik Zabrze, FK Partizan, and FSC Bukovyna Chernivtsi are sliding dangerously close to the relegation zone.

  • French giants Olympique de Marseille and Olympique Lyonnais sit at the bottom — with Lyon enduring a disastrous season, earning only 7 points and suffering a staggering -83 goal difference. Relegation looks inevitable.

🔮 Looking Ahead

With 11 rounds remaining, Bayer Leverkusen look set for promotion, but the race from 2nd to 9th is wide open. Just eight points separate those playoff hopefuls, meaning every fixture from here on could reshape the standings. Expect plenty of late-season drama as the teams push for their playoff dreams or try to escape the drop.
