League III 2025 Group A Round 35 Recap

🏆 League III – Group A Round 35 Recap

Round 35 is in the books, and with only three rounds left in the season, the race for promotion, playoff positioning, and cup qualification is tighter than ever. Let’s break down where every major battle stands after another dramatic matchday.

🔝 PROMOTION RACE

1️⃣ Vancouver Whitecaps FC (CND) – 71 pts

Vancouver remains firmly in control at the top after another strong round. With 71 points, they maintain a comfortable lead over the pack and are closing in on automatic promotion to League II. Their balance of strong defense (33 GA) and elite scoring (121 GF) continues to carry them forward.

2️⃣ Deportivo Garcilaso (PER) – 69 pts

Garcilaso stays in hot pursuit, just two points off the top. Their form remains excellent, and they’ve already secured a playoff berth at minimum. If Vancouver drops points, the Peruvians could still steal the League III title.

⚔️ PLAYOFF POSITIONS (Ranks 2–9)

These eight clubs will battle in the postseason for the second promotion spot:

3️⃣ Pirata FC (PER) – 65 pts

Riding strong momentum, Pirata are comfortably in the top four. They look like real contenders heading into the playoffs.

4️⃣ Excelsior Rotterdam (NEATh) – 62 pts

Another consistent side that remains in the high playoff seeds. Their recent form (WLWLW) shows they’re unpredictable but dangerous.

5️⃣ Chaco Petrolero (BOL) – 54 pts

Solid at home and steady overall. They aren’t catching the top group but are safe in the playoff picture.

6️⃣ Deportes Iquique (CHI) – 54 pts

Level on points with Chaco but with a slightly weaker goal differential. A playoff lock.

7️⃣ Audax Italiano (CHI) – 53 pts

Audax keeps their playoff status secure with steady performances late in the season.

8️⃣ Toronto FC (CND) – 52 pts

Toronto’s recent form has wobbled, but they remain within the top eight and safely in the playoff bracket.

9️⃣ Club Deportivo Palestino (CHI) – 51 pts

The last playoff qualifying position—and Palestino holds it for now. Their midfield is strong but they’ve struggled away from home (-10 GD on the road). They’ll need to be sharp in the final rounds to hold off challengers.

😮 Teams Just Outside the Playoffs

10️⃣ Dynamo Moscow (RUS) – 50 pts (Friendly Cup spot)

Dynamo sits just one point behind the playoff line. Their recent form is mixed, but they’re very much alive. At worst, they currently hold the Friendly Cup qualification slot for finishing 10th.

🏰 King’s Cup Qualification (Ranks 11–12)

11️⃣ Casa Sports (SEN) – 49 pts

Only two points away from the playoff line, Casa Sports are still dreaming of sneaking into 9th. They’ve earned the King’s Cup berth for now.

12️⃣ FC Akron Tolyatti (RUS) – 47 pts

Their playoff dreams aren’t fully dead yet, but they need a perfect finish and help from others. They currently secure the second King’s Cup slot.

➡️ Mid-Table & Lower Table Notes

While there is no relegation in League III, several clubs are locked into bottom-half finishes. These teams will aim to finish the year strong, develop form, and prepare for the next season:

  • 13 to 20 include CSKA Moscow, AZ Alkmaar, SC Heerenveen, ASCE La Lingueré, AS Dakar Sacré-Cœur, Shandong Luneng, Atlético Ottawa, and Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao.

  • Guangzhou remains in last but picked up a rare point at home this round.

🔥 FINAL THREE ROUNDS AHEAD

  • Vancouver and Garcilaso race for the title and direct promotion.

  • Eight teams scrap for playoff positioning.

  • Dynamo, Casa Sports, Palestino battle around the crucial 9th/10th line.
