League III 2025 Group A Round 28 Recap

League III – Group A Round 28 Recap

Round 28 brought another exciting chapter in the League III season, as the race for promotion and cup qualification continues to intensify with just 10 rounds left in the campaign.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC (CND) remain in firm control of the top spot with 62 points after 28 matches. Their balanced attack and solid defense have them on track for direct promotion to League II. Deportivo Garcilaso (PER) stay hot on their heels in second with 54 points, while Chaco Petrolero (BOL) and Pirata FC (PER) round out the top four, both still well-positioned in the playoff zone.

The battle for playoff qualification (ranks 2–9) remains fierce. Excelsior Rotterdam (NEATH), Audax Italiano (CHI), Club Deportivo Palestino (CHI), and Deportes Iquique (CHI) are all within striking distance, though recent inconsistent results are shaking up their momentum. Toronto FC (CND) has climbed up to ninth place, edging closer to playoff contention after a much-needed win.

In the Friendly Cup zone, PFC CSKA Moscow (RUS) currently hold the 10th position with 40 points, though pressure from below means their spot is far from secure.

Meanwhile, Dynamo Moscow (RUS) and Casa Sports (SEN) sit in the King’s Cup qualification zone (ranks 11–12), still battling for consistency as they hover around mid-table.

At the other end, Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao (CHN) remain anchored to the bottom with only 1 point after 28 matches, while AS Dakar Sacré-Cœur (SEN) and Shandong Luneng Taishan (CHN) struggle to avoid deeper relegation danger.

With 10 rounds remaining, the top nine are fighting tooth and nail for promotion and playoff spots, while the rest brace for crucial battles to stay in contention for cup qualification or survival.

Next Round Preview: Expect sparks to fly as several top-table clashes could further reshape the playoff landscape!
