League III – Group C Round 35 Recap
With just three rounds left in the season, the race for promotion, playoff qualification, and the final cup positions is reaching maximum intensity. Round 35 delivered drama across the table, with major shifts in the fight for 1st place and several teams scrambling to secure their postseason futures.
🔝 Battle for Promotion (1st Place)
C.D. Barrio México (CTR) remain in the driver’s seat after hitting 62 points, maintaining a slim but vital advantage thanks to their consistency. Hot on their heels, Limón F.C. (CTR) sit at 60 points, still within striking distance as they continue to apply pressure.
Red Star Belgrade (SER) also stay alive in the title chase with 59 points, keeping the top three within a single win. Any dropped points from the leader could trigger a late-season twist.
🔥 Playoff Zone (2nd–9th)
With the second promotion spot decided via playoffs, the race here is fierce:
-
FK Vojvodina (SER) and Lech Poznań (POL) remain solid in the top nine but slipped slightly this round, giving hope to those behind them.
-
Shamrock Rovers F.C. (IRL) and FC Arsenal Kyiv (UKR) both earned valuable results to stay inside the crucial zone.
-
Liga Deportiva Alajuelense (CTR) and Bohemian F.C. (IRL) remain in contention but cannot afford any more stumbles.
-
Górnik Zabrze (POL) bounced back with a strong performance to stay just outside the playoffs — still within reach.
With positions 2–9 separated by only a handful of points, the final three rounds will be a gauntlet.
⚪ Friendly Cup Spot (10th Place)
Drogheda United F.C. (IRL) currently hold 10th place, giving them temporary control of the Friendly Cup berth. But with only a small cushion over 11th and 12th, their place is far from secure.
🏆 King’s Cup Places (11th–12th)
TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (GER) at 11th and FC Kramatorsk (UKR) at 12th currently occupy the King’s Cup slots, but the standings remain extremely fluid. A single win or loss could push them into the Friendly Cup or slide them down the table.
📉 Lower Table (No Relegation)
Even though there’s no relegation in League III, the remaining teams continue fighting for pride:
-
Eintracht Frankfurt, FK Partizan, and KS Cracovia struggle for form late in the season.
-
FSC Bukovyna Chernivtsi picked up a crucial positive result to stay competitive in the middle pack.
-
Olympique Lyonnais remain at the bottom, unable to escape last place, but will look to finish the season on a stronger note.
📌 Final Thoughts
Round 35 tightened the race at the top, complicated the battle for the playoffs, and left the cup qualification picture wide open. With only three rounds remaining, every match is now a high-stakes showdown that could define a team’s season.
Stay tuned — Round 36 promises even more fireworks!
