League III 2025 Group A Round 34 Recap

League III – Group A Round 34 Recap

Round 34 brought another dramatic twist to the League III Group A standings as the race for promotion and playoff positioning tightens with only four rounds left in the season. Every point matters, and this week delivered big wins, costly slips, and shifting momentum across the table.

🔝 Promotion Race & Top Spots

1st – Deportivo Garcilaso (69 pts)

Garcilaso remain firmly on top, holding a 4-point lead and staying on course for direct promotion to League II. Their form has cooled slightly with multiple draws in recent weeks, but their consistency all season keeps them in control of their destiny.

2nd – Vancouver Whitecaps FC (68 pts)

Vancouver stay in the fight with a strong push, now just four points off the summit. Their away form continues to carry them, and they remain one of the most balanced sides in the group. They are securely in the playoff zone and still have an outside chance at stealing the title.

3rd – Pirata FC (65 pts)

Pirata match Vancouver on points but fall behind on goal difference. Their recent form is excellent, and their defense continues to be one of the toughest in the league. A late-season surge might position them to challenge Garcilaso if the leaders slip.

📈 Playoff Zone: Ranks 2–9

The battle for playoff qualification remains tight:

4th – Chaco Petrolero (60 pts)

Still a playoff lock—strong at home and grinding out points even on rough days.

5th – Excelsior Rotterdam (59 pts)

A good week keeps them safely in the picture. They remain one of the league’s best defensive sides.

6th – Deportes Iquique (53 pts)

A slight dip in form but still comfortably inside the top 9.

7th – Toronto FC (52 pts) ▲ +1

Toronto climb a spot after a solid showing. Their home form is improving at just the right time.

8th – Club Deportivo Palestino (50 pts) ▼ –1

A disappointing week costs them a position, but they remain in playoff territory for now.

9th – Audax Italiano (50 pts)

Still clinging to the final playoff spot. Their form is shaky, but they’re hanging on.

❗The Chase for 10th – Friendly Cup Qualification

10th – Dynamo Moscow (47 pts)

Dynamo hold the last Friendly Cup qualification spot despite a rough run of recent results. With a few sides closing in, they’ll need to stabilize quickly.

🏆 King’s Cup Zone: Ranks 11–12

11th – Casa Sports (46 pts)

Just one point behind Dynamo, they remain within striking distance of Friendly Cup qualification.

12th – PFC CSKA Moscow (44 pts)

Still in the King’s Cup zone and safely above the teams below them, but climbing out toward 10th is still possible.

📉 Bottom of the Table (No Relegation)

With no relegation in League III, the lower positions are all about pride and late-season momentum:

  • 13. FC Akron Tolyatti (41 pts)

  • 14. AZ Alkmaar (40 pts)

  • 15. SC Heerenveen (39 pts)

  • 16. AS Dakar Sacré-Cœur (39 pts)

  • 17. Atlético Ottawa (38 pts)

  • 18. Shandong Luneng (38 pts)

  • 19. ASCE La Linguère (37 pts)

  • 20. Guangzhou Evergrande (2 pts) – Still winless in 34 rounds.

Several teams in this group remain tightly packed and could still jump into a Cup position with a late surge.

📌 Final Stretch Incoming

With only four matches left, the battles for:

  • Promotion

  • Playoff slots

  • Friendly Cup entry

  • King’s Cup seeding

are all intensifying.

Round 34 showed that no lead is safe and no position is final. The final weeks promise drama, pressure, and potentially major twists.
