Here’s a recap of Group A Round 4 in League III play!
Group A – Round 4 Recap (League III)
-
Vancouver Whitecaps (CND) remain at the top of the group after another strong showing. With 10 points from 4 matches and an impressive +8 goal difference, they’ve established themselves as the early team to beat.
-
Chaco Petrolero (BOL) hold onto 2nd place with 9 points, winning three of their four matches but showing less dominance in front of goal compared to Vancouver.
-
Deportivo Garcilaso (PER) sit 3rd on 9 points as well, trailing only on goal difference after a narrow defeat in Round 4.
-
Deportes Iquique (CHI) and Dynamo Moscow (RUS) round out the top 5, both on 8 points. Iquique have been consistent with two wins and two draws, while Dynamo Moscow keep pace with 7 goals scored.
Mid-table remains tightly packed:
-
SC Heerenveen (NEATH), ASCE La Linguère (SEN), and Atlético Ottawa (CND) all sit on 7–6 points, keeping themselves within striking distance of the top four.
-
Pirata FC (PER) are steady with 6 points, though their goal difference has slipped to -1.
-
Toronto FC (CND) complete the top half with 5 points from 4 games, looking competitive but needing more wins to climb.
In the lower half:
-
PFC CSKA Moscow (RUS) and FC Akron Tolyatti (RUS) both sit on 5 points as well, showing mixed results so far.
-
Excelsior Rotterdam (NEATH) and Audax Italiano (CHI) sit on 4 points, still searching for consistency.
-
Casa Sports (SEN) also have 4 points but are held back by a -4 goal difference.
Struggling sides include:
-
Club Deportivo Palestino (CHI) on 4 points but with a -8 goal difference,
-
AZ Alkmaar (NEATH) with only 3 points, and
-
Shandong Luneng Taishan (CHN), AS Dakar Sacré-Cœur (SEN), and Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao (CHN) all rooted at the bottom with just 2 points each.
Guangzhou, in particular, have been poor defensively, already conceding 16 goals in 4 matches with a -12 differential, leaving them last in the group.
👉 After four rounds, Vancouver’s dominance stands out, while the rest of the top 7 remain in close contention. At the other end, Guangzhou and Shandong need urgent turnarounds if they want to escape the drop zone.
