League III – Group D Round 25 Recap
The competition in Group D is heating up as Round 25 wraps up and the fight for promotion and playoff positions intensifies with just 13 rounds left in the season!
At the top, Mushuc Runa S.C. (ECU) continue to lead the way with 50 points. Their strong run of form and dominant attack (70 goals scored) keeps them firmly in control of the automatic promotion spot. They’ve been nearly flawless lately, winning four of their last five matches and showing no signs of slowing down.
Just behind them, Always Ready (BOL) remain close with 45 points after another solid performance, maintaining pressure on the leaders. Independiente del Valle (ECU) sit third with 43 points, still within striking distance of the top two and looking like serious playoff contenders.
The playoff zone remains tightly contested — Club Destroyers (BOL), Blooming (BOL), San Lorenzo de Almagro (ARG), L.D.U. Quito (ECU), Bentin Tacna Heroica (PER), and Deportivo Táchira F.C. (VEN) currently hold positions 4 through 9. Only eight points separate second from ninth, meaning one bad week could drastically change the landscape of the promotion race.
In 10th place, Club Plaza Colonia de Deportes (URU) sit in the Friendly Cup qualifying position with 33 points, performing consistently but needing a late surge if they want to break into the playoff picture.
Just below them, Metropolitanos F.C. (VEN) and Zamora F.C. (VEN) occupy 11th and 12th, which would send them to the King’s Cup. Both sides have shown flashes of quality but lack the consistency to climb higher in the standings.
At the lower end of the table, R.S.C. Anderlecht (BE) remain bottom with just 19 points and a -16 goal difference. Aledals IK (SWE) and Arameisk-Syrianska IF (SWE) also continue to struggle, sitting deep in the relegation zone and desperately needing wins to avoid the drop.
With 13 rounds left, Group D is shaping up to deliver a thrilling finish — will Mushuc Runa hold their nerve for promotion, or will one of the Bolivian or Ecuadorian powerhouses rise to take their place? The battle for League II is far from over!
