Premier World League 2025 Group D Round 52 Recap

Premier World League – Group D Round 52 Recap

Round 52 of the Premier World League Group D has come to an end, and with only 10 matches remaining in the 62-game season, the race for playoff positions and cup qualifications is reaching its most decisive stage. The standings have tightened across the board, with new shifts in the World Cup of Clubs and relegation zones.

Top of the Table & World Cup of Clubs Race (1–4):
Cusco FC (PER) remains at the top with 110 points, continuing their outstanding campaign with one of the best defenses in the league. Right behind them, Pyramids FC (EGY) climbs to 2nd with 109 points, showing great balance and consistency.
DC United (USA) holds 3rd with 109 points as well, proving that their attack can compete with the best. Sydney FC (NZ) completes the top four on 108 points after another strong showing — meaning the race for the World Cup of Clubs qualification remains incredibly tight, with only two points separating 1st and 4th.

Playoff Contenders (5–16):
AEK Athens (GRE) and Real Madrid (SPA) are hot on the leaders’ heels, tied at 108 and 107 points respectively. Bayern Munich (GER) and Werder Bremen (GER) hold firm in 7th and 8th, giving Germany two solid representatives in the top half.
Wolfsburg (GER) and Deportivo Municipal (PER) are next in line, both within striking distance of the top eight, while Liverpool (UK) and SC Freiburg (GER) sit mid-playoff zone with 72 and 71 points each.
Further down, Estudiantes (ARG), Alianza Atlético (PER), Argentino Juniors (ARG), and Atlético Ciclón (BOL) round out the current playoff qualifiers from 13th to 16th. These four teams will need to stay consistent to protect their positions from the challengers below.

Friendly Cup Zone (17–22):
Teams in the Friendly Cup range are still battling for a late push into playoff contention. Silkeborg (DEN), San Martín (PER), Binacional (PER), Spartmani (MC), PSV (NEA), and Colo Colo (CHI) occupy the 17th–22nd spots. Several of them, especially Silkeborg and San Martín, are only a few wins away from breaking into the playoff line.

King’s Cup Zone (23–26):
The King’s Cup spots are currently filled by Broncos (HON), Chievo (ITA), César Vallejo (PER), and Comunicaciones (GT). While these teams are out of playoff reach for now, they can still salvage their seasons with a strong cup run if they maintain their current positions.

Relegation Battle (31–32):
At the bottom of the table, Real Sociedad (SPA) and El Nacional (ECU) find themselves in serious danger. With only 47 points each and a string of losses in recent rounds, both clubs will need an exceptional turnaround in the final 10 matches to avoid relegation.

Looking Ahead:
As Group D heads into Round 53, the pressure is on across every tier of the table. The race for the top four remains wide open, the playoff cut line is razor-thin, and several legendary clubs are fighting to avoid the drop. Expect fireworks as the final stretch of the Premier World League season approaches.
