Premier World League – Group D Round 42 Recap

The final round of Group D delivered drama, decisive victories, and heartbreak as the season closed with all 42 matches completed. Here’s how the last matchday shaped the standings:

Cusco FC (PER) sealed top spot with 90 points after a 2–1 victory, confirming their consistency across the season. Their defense and attack were equally impressive, finishing with the league’s best goal difference at +55.

Sydney FC (NZ) stayed firm in second, ending on 86 points with another commanding win, while Bayern Munich (GER) took third place, matching Sydney on points but trailing slightly on goal difference. Both teams head into the knockout phase in strong form despite Bayern dropping their final game.

DC United (USA) and Pyramids FC (EGY) also rounded out the top five, each closing on 85 points. DC United’s strong attack kept them competitive, while Pyramids finished with one of the best home records in the group.

Further down the table, Real Madrid (SPA) surged to 6th after a crucial last-day win, leapfrogging AEK Athens (GRE), who slipped to 7th after a tough draw. Werder Bremen (GER) and Wolfsburg (GER) completed the top 10, both showing resilience to finish on 79 and 75 points respectively.

At the bottom, it was heartbreak for Western City Wanderers (AUS), who ended in 32nd place with just 24 points and a -49 goal difference. Alongside them, Lokomotiv Moscow (RUS) and Real Sociedad (SPA) also finished in the relegation zone after struggling throughout the campaign.

Notable performances included:

  • Cusco FC’s unstoppable finish: winning their last five matches.

  • Sydney FC’s firepower: a +36 goal difference kept them ahead.

  • Bayern’s slip-up: dropping points on the final day but still securing a top-three place.

  • AEK Athens’ stumble: from 6th to 7th after failing to win in the last round.

With the regular season wrapped up, the stage is set for the knockout rounds where the best from each group will battle for the Premier World League crown.
