Premier World League 2025 Group B Round 52 Recap

Premier World League – Group B Round 52 Recap

Round 52 has wrapped up, leaving only 10 matches to go before the end of the season, and the playoff race is heating up! With 62 games in total, every point now matters more than ever.

Top of the Table & World Cup of Clubs Race (1–4):
Melgar (PER) continues to lead the group with 119 points after another dominant performance, maintaining a strong goal difference of +93. Houston Dynamo (USA) keeps pace in 2nd with 117 points, showing impressive consistency both home and away. Gamba Osaka (JAP) stays 3rd at 116 points but has slipped slightly after some uneven results. Boca Juniors (ARG) rounds out the top four with 113 points, still in a great position to secure a World Cup of Clubs berth.

Playoff Contenders (5–16):
Columbus Crew (USA) and River Plate (ARG) are neck and neck in 5th and 6th, both looking dangerous in form. Flamengo (BRA) and Internacional (BRA) sit 7th and 8th, respectively, keeping Brazil well represented in the playoff picture.
Kawasaki Frontale (JAP), Querétaro (MEX), and Emelec (ECU) make up the next tier, all within striking distance if those above them stumble. Miami FC (USA) and Unión Huaral (PER) hold on to 12th and 13th, while Cerro Porteño (PAR), Inter Miami (USA), and Santos Laguna (MEX) currently round out the last playoff spots at 14th–16th. The battle for those final positions is razor tight, and one slip could send any of them into the Friendly Cup zone.

Friendly Cup Zone (17–22):
Caroni (VEN), Chicago Fire (USA), Atlético Nacional (COL), New England Revolution (USA), Millonarios (COL), and Puebla (MEX) occupy the Friendly Cup positions. Each club still has a chance to break into the playoffs if they find a strong run of form, but they’ll need results to go their way in the remaining rounds.

King’s Cup Zone (23–26):
Desna (UKR), South China (HK), Tigres (MEX), and Olimpia (PAR) will be disappointed to find themselves in this range. Their goal now will be to climb out of the lower tier and avoid any late-season collapse that could push them into the relegation danger zone.

Relegation Battle (31–32):
Africa Sports FC (CIV), Sociedade (BRA), Chivas (MEX), Yokohama F. Marinos (JAP), Zamalek SC (EG), and Marítimo (POR) make up the lower end of the table, but the two clubs in the most danger right now are Zamalek SC and Marítimo, who sit in the bottom two with only 52 and 50 points. They’ll need a miracle in the last 10 rounds to escape relegation.

As Round 53 looms, the tension across Group B couldn’t be higher — with just a few wins separating mid-table safety from playoff glory, the road to the Premier World League postseason promises to be thrilling right to the finish.
