Premier World League 2025 Group B Round 41 Recap

Premier World League – Group B Round 41 Recap

Group B’s Round 41 saw the Peruvian powerhouse Melgar continue their dominance, but with the top five still tightly packed, the fight for seeding is far from over.

Race at the Top

  • Melgar (PER) held first with 94 points after another strong result. Their +71 goal difference shows their balance in attack and defense, and they remain favorites to finish top.

  • Gamba Osaka (JAP) kept pressure on in second with 92 points, recording four wins in their last five. Their defense has been particularly impressive, conceding just 77 goals over 41 matches.

  • Houston Dynamo (USA) climbed to third on 89 points, riding excellent away form to stay in contention.

  • Boca Juniors (ARG) (86 pts) and Columbus Crew (USA) (83 pts) complete a fiercely competitive top five. Both sides have been strong at home, but inconsistencies away have cost them.

  • Flamengo (BRA) (82 pts) and Internacional (BRA) (69 pts) round out the upper half of the table.

Mid-Table Battle

  • Kawasaki Frontale (JAP) (70 pts), River Plate (ARG) (69 pts), and Cerro Porteño (PAR) (68 pts) remain clustered, each trading results in recent weeks.

  • Union Huaral (PER) (63 pts) pushed up the table with steady form, overtaking Emelec (ECU), who sit level on points but with a worse goal difference.

  • Querétaro (MEX) (62 pts) and Santos Laguna (MEX) (62 pts) are neck-and-neck, with Puebla (56 pts) and Caroní (56 pts) just behind.

Relegation Zone Drama

  • New England Revolution (USA) (52 pts) slipped again after five straight defeats, pulled closer to danger.

  • Millonarios (COL) (51 pts), Africa Sports (CIV) (51 pts), and Tigres (MEX) (50 pts) are just above the line, but vulnerable with inconsistent form.

  • Sociedade (BRA) (49 pts) and Olimpia (PAR) (48 pts) hover in relegation territory, fighting desperately.

  • Desna (UKR) (46 pts) and Marítimo (POR) (46 pts) remain in the thick of the battle, only a handful of points clear of the drop.

  • Atlético Nacional (COL) (45 pts) and Zamalek (EGY) (43 pts) are deep in trouble, both with negative streaks.

  • Chicago Fire (USA) (42 pts) and Miami FC (USA) (41 pts) are near collapse, struggling to find points late in the season.

  • Yokohama F. Marinos (JAP) (40 pts), South China (HK) (39 pts), Chivas (MEX) (33 pts), and Inter Miami (USA) (30 pts) round out the bottom. Both Mexican sides and Inter Miami look destined for relegation after dreadful defensive records.

Summary:
Melgar kept control at the summit, but Gamba Osaka and Houston Dynamo remain close enough to pounce. Boca Juniors and Columbus Crew keep the top five tight. At the bottom, Inter Miami, Chivas, and South China look almost certain to go down, while a cluster of six teams from 17th to 24th remain in a brutal fight for survival.
