League III 2025 Group D Round 26 Recap

League III – Group D: Round 26 Recap

As the League III season moves into its final third, Independiente del Valle (ECU) have taken control of Group D, leading an intense South American-heavy table where every point counts in the push for promotion.

🏆 Promotion Race

  • Independiente del Valle (ECU) rise to 1st place with 46 points, reclaiming the top spot thanks to another strong showing. Their balance between home and away form keeps them firmly on track for automatic promotion to League II.

  • Mushuc Runa S.C. (ECU) continue to impress in 2nd place with 44 points, just two behind the leaders. The Ecuadorian side remain one of the most consistent in the group.

  • Always Ready (BOL) drop to 3rd, also on 45 points, despite a solid season so far. A single result could see them back in the top two.

🔝 Playoff Zone (2nd–9th)

From 2nd to 9th, the battle remains razor-tight — only 8 points separate these teams:

  • San Lorenzo de Almagro (ARG) in 4th with 45 points continue their steady climb, having lost just once in their last five.

  • Club Destroyers (BOL) and L.D.U. Quito (ECU) both sit on 44 points, within touching distance of the top, making this one of the most competitive groups in the league.

  • Bentín Tacna Heroica (PER) in 7th and Blooming (BOL) in 8th round out the playoff picture with 42 and 40 points respectively.

  • Club Plaza Colonia de Deportes (URU) are hanging on in 9th with 39 points, hoping to rediscover form to stay in contention.

🏅 Cup Qualifications

  • Deportivo Táchira F.C. (VEN) sit in 10th with 36 points, currently earning the Friendly Cup qualification slot.

  • Metropolitanos F.C. (VEN) and Zamora F.C. (VEN) occupy 11th and 12th, good enough for the King’s Cup spots — giving Venezuela three clubs in cup contention.

⚠️ Mid-Table & Struggles

  • Talleres de Córdoba (ARG) and Bucha (UKR) are level on 33 and 32 points, struggling to break into the top half despite solid home form.

  • Defensa y Justicia (ARG), Centro Atlético Fénix (URU), and AIK Fotboll (SWE) are stuck in the high 20s, needing a turnaround to avoid slipping into the lower ranks.

🔻 Relegation Zone

The bottom four are in serious danger as the season heads toward the final stretch:

  • Arameisk-Syrianska IF (SWE), Aledals IK (SWE), and R.S.C. Anderlecht (BEL) have all endured rough campaigns, with Anderlecht sitting dead last on 20 points and a -69 goal differential.

  • The Swedish clubs have especially struggled defensively, each conceding over 60 goals.

🔮 Looking Ahead

With 12 rounds remaining, Independiente del Valle hold the lead, but with just seven points separating 1st from 8th, anything can happen. Ecuadorian and Bolivian clubs are leading the charge, while the mid-table pack eyes late momentum to sneak into playoff or cup contention.
