League III 2025 Group C Round 20 Recap

League III – Group C: Round 20 Recap

We’ve officially reached the halfway mark of the season in Group C, and the race for promotion to League II is heating up. Teams are beginning to separate into promotion contenders, playoff hopefuls, and relegation battlers as the standings tighten dramatically.

🥇 1. Bayer 04 Leverkusen (GER) – 49 pts

Leverkusen remain firmly in control at the top after another strong week. Their league-leading +45 goal differential and potent attack have made them the clear promotion favorite. With consistency on both home and away turf, they look well on track for a direct move up to League II.

🥈 2. Limón F.C. (CTR) – 39 pts

The Costa Rican side continues to impress with their resilient play. Despite occasional defensive hiccups, Limón stay within striking distance of Leverkusen and comfortably in the playoff zone. A few more clean sheets could help them solidify their position.

🥉 3. C.D. Barrio México (CTR) – 33 pts

Barrio México climb into third after a key victory. Their home form has been crucial, though they’ll need to improve away performances to keep their playoff momentum.

🔺 4. Red Star Belgrade (SER) – 32 pts

Red Star have been finding their rhythm lately, with a strong run of results putting them right in the mix for the top playoff spots. Their attacking play has been sharp, and they’ll be a team to watch in the next few rounds.

🔻 5. Shamrock Rovers F.C. (IRL) – 32 pts

The Irish side drop slightly after some uneven results. Their defense remains solid, but a lack of goals in tight matches has cost them key points. Still well-positioned in the playoff chase.

🔺 6. Liga Deportiva Alajuelense (CTR) – 32 pts

Alajuelense continue to show impressive home resilience, staying undefeated in several recent home fixtures. They’re quietly climbing and could soon challenge the top three if their form continues.

🔻 7. FK Vojvodina (SER) – 30 pts

Vojvodina remain competitive but inconsistent. A few dropped points against lower-ranked teams have slowed their playoff charge.

🔺 8. Drogheda United F.C. (IRL) – 30 pts

A strong showing this round pushes Drogheda into the playoff picture. Their home record has been key, though they still need to tighten up defensively away from home.

🔺 9. TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (GER) – 30 pts

Hoffenheim squeeze into the final playoff spot thanks to a solid defensive showing this week. They’re proving tough to beat and could climb higher with more offensive spark.

⚠️ Just Outside the Playoffs

  • 10. Lech Poznań (POL) – 29 pts: Their attack has struggled lately, but with a strong defensive foundation, they’re still a threat to re-enter the playoff zone.

  • 11. Eintracht Frankfurt (GER) – 28 pts: Good defensive stats but too many draws have stalled their upward movement.

Lower Table Trouble

  • 16. Bohemian F.C. (IRL) – 23 pts: A few positive results have kept them afloat, but they’ll need consistency to avoid sliding further.

  • 18. FSC Bukovyna Chernivtsi (UKR) – 21 pts: Defensive issues continue to plague them.

  • 19. Olympique de Marseille (FRA) – 18 pts: A disappointing campaign so far with too many goals conceded.

  • 20. Olympique Lyonnais (FRA) – 6 pts: Still bottom of the table with a staggering –66 goal differential and just one win in 20 games. Their season has been disastrous, and recovery looks nearly impossible at this point.

🔮 Looking Ahead (Round 21)

Leverkusen’s promotion charge looks unstoppable, but the playoff race is tight — just three points separate 4th from 9th. Expect fireworks as the mid-table teams fight to stay in contention heading into the second half of the season.
