League III Group C Round 14 Recap

Here’s the Group C – Round 14 Recap for League III play:

Group C – Round 14 Recap

Group C wrapped up with Bayer 04 Leverkusen (GER) dominating the table, while several big names from France and Eastern Europe endured nightmare seasons.

🔝 Top of the Table

  • Bayer 04 Leverkusen (GER)1st place, 32 pts
The German giants stormed to the top with 10 wins in 14 matches, scoring a group-best 47 goals. Their home form was untouchable (7W, 1D, 0L; 31–6 GD). A late draw didn’t stop them from cruising to the crown.

  • Limón F.C. (CTR)2nd place, 26 pts
Consistency defined their run, with just 2 losses all campaign. Their away record (4W, 1D, 2L) helped them stay ahead of the chasing pack.

  • Drogheda United F.C. (IRL)3rd place, 25 pts
Seven home wins powered them to 3rd. Their defense (29 conceded) was shaky at times, but a strong finish kept them in playoff territory.

  • Shamrock Rovers F.C. (IRL)4th place, 23 pts
Another Irish side secured a top-four finish despite patchy away results. Their late stumble (2L in last 3) nearly cost them, but they hung on.

⚔️ Mid-Table Battle

  • Liga Deportiva Alajuelense (CTR)22 pts, 5th
Just one point off the playoff line. A strong attack (33 goals) wasn’t enough to offset defensive issues.

  • C.D. Barrio México (CTR)21 pts, 6th
Solid home form (5W, 1D, 1L) kept them competitive.

  • TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (GER)21 pts, 7th
Inconsistent but dangerous, Hoffenheim managed a +6 goal difference but struggled in close games.

  • Lech Poznań (POL)21 pts, 8th
Strong attack (37 goals scored) but leaky defense (36 conceded) left them vulnerable.

  • FK Vojvodina (SER)20 pts, 9th
Ended with more losses (6) than wins, but did enough to avoid the bottom fight.

  • Red Star Belgrade (SER)19 pts, 10th
A disappointing finish given their history. Their -2 GD reflected the inconsistency.

  • FC Arsenal Kyiv (UKR)19 pts, 11th
Picked up late points but dropped too many away (only 2W).

📉 Lower Half

  • Bohemian F.C. (IRL)18 pts, 12th
Mid-pack throughout, but finished poorly with 3 losses in their last 5.

  • Eintracht Frankfurt (GER)18 pts, 13th
    A shock underperformance: 9 losses in 14 matches and a -18 GD.

  • KS Cracovia (POL)18 pts, 14th
Another side undone by poor defense, finishing with -16 GD.

  • Górnik Zabrze (POL)17 pts, 15th
Only 5 wins all season, with road struggles keeping them down.

  • FK Partizan (SER)17 pts, 16th
Conceded 30 goals and never found rhythm.

  • FC Kramatorsk (UKR)16 pts, 17th
Spirited at home, but too weak away (0W, 2D, 5L).

  • FSC Bukovyna Chernivtsi (UKR)14 pts, 18th
Suffered 9 defeats and finished with -20 GD.

Bottom of the Table

  • Olympique de Marseille (FRA)14 pts, 19th
One of the shock collapses of the group. They conceded 39 goals and finished with just 4 wins.

  • Olympique Lyonnais (FRA)6 pts, 20th
A disastrous season: only 1 win in 14 games, with the worst defense (60 conceded) and a staggering -39 GD. This was one of the weakest campaigns in the entire league.

Round 14 Highlights

  • Leverkusen crowned Group C winners, undefeated at home.

  • Costa Rican duo Limón & Alajuelense showed strong regional representation in the top six.

  • Ireland’s Drogheda & Shamrock Rovers both secured playoff spots.
