Round 30 of the Premier World League Season 2026 delivered another action-packed set of matches, with 16 games producing plenty of goals and several important results in the playoff race. With 30 of 62 rounds completed, 32 rounds remain, so the battle for the top 16 is beginning to take shape.
🔥 Playoff Race: Positions 1–16
The top 16 teams qualify for the playoffs, while the top four also earn qualification for the World Cup of Clubs.
Several teams currently occupying playoff positions had important results:
- Cusco FC (1st) suffered a setback, losing 2–1 to Alianza Atletico (26th). The defeat could open the door for the teams chasing the league leaders.
- Wolfsburg (4th) were beaten 2–1 away by Deportivo Municipal (13th), another major result for the playoff race.
- Atlético (2nd) drew 2–2 with Liverpool (18th). Liverpool's point could prove valuable as they attempt to climb into the top 16.
- AEK Athens (3rd) picked up a crucial 3–2 victory over San Martin (23rd) to maintain their position among the league's elite.
- Lokomotiv Moscow (7th) defeated Binacional 2–1, strengthening their position inside the playoff places.
- Aston Villa (8th) continued their strong campaign with a 4–2 win over Chievo (30th).
- Real Madrid (9th) edged Spartman 3–2 in another important victory for the playoff contenders.
- PSV (12th) defeated Barcelona (10th) 2–1, giving PSV three valuable points while simultaneously hurting one of the teams already inside the playoff zone.
- Pyramids FC (11th) defeated Werder Bremen 3–2, keeping themselves firmly in the playoff picture.
- Silkeborg (16th) beat Kashima Antlers 3–2, an especially important result because Silkeborg currently occupy the final playoff position.
⚽ The battle just outside the playoffs
The teams around positions 17 and below are under increasing pressure.
Colo-Colo (17th) defeated Estudiantes 2–1, putting pressure on the teams immediately above them. Liverpool (18th) also earned a point against Atlético, while Sydney FC (21st) drew 2–2 with Freiburg.
The teams from 17th through 22nd qualify for the Friendly Cup, so there is still plenty to play for even for clubs that don't break into the playoff positions.
🏆 World Cup of Clubs Race
The top four qualify for the World Cup of Clubs. Entering Round 30, those positions were occupied by:
- Cusco FC
- Atlético
- AEK Athens
- Wolfsburg
However, Round 30 was not particularly kind to the top four. Cusco and Wolfsburg both lost, while Atlético could only manage a draw. AEK Athens were the only top-four side to claim a victory, making their 3–2 win especially valuable.
The results mean the World Cup of Clubs race remains wide open with 32 rounds still to play.
🟡 Friendly Cup Race – Positions 17–22
Teams finishing 17th through 22nd qualify for the Friendly Cup.
Current teams around this zone include Colo-Colo (17th), Liverpool (18th), Werder Bremen (19th), Argentinos Juniors (20th), Sydney FC (21st), and Spartman (22nd).
There was mixed fortune for these clubs:
- Liverpool earned a valuable 2–2 draw against Atlético.
- Colo-Colo moved closer to the playoff places with a 2–1 victory.
- Argentinos Juniors produced one of the round's biggest results, defeating Bayern Munich 3–2.
- Sydney FC drew 2–2 with Freiburg.
- Spartman fell 3–2 to Real Madrid.
With only a few places separating the playoff and Friendly Cup zones, the next several rounds could produce significant movement.
🔵 King's Cup Race – Positions 23–26
Ranks 23–26 qualify for the King's Cup.
San Martin (23rd) lost 3–2 to AEK Athens, while Kashima Antlers (24th) also suffered a narrow 3–2 defeat against Silkeborg. These teams will be looking to avoid slipping toward the relegation places.
Alianza Atletico (26th) produced one of the biggest surprises of the round by defeating league-leading Cusco FC 2–1. That victory could be an important turning point in their campaign.
🚨 Relegation Battle
The bottom two positions are relegation spots, making the lower end of the table just as important as the playoff race.
Chievo (30th) suffered a 4–2 defeat against Aston Villa, while Binacional (28th) lost 2–1 to Lokomotiv Moscow. Western City Wanderers (29th) were also beaten, losing 3–2 to Huracán.
At the moment, those teams need to start collecting points quickly to escape the danger zone.

📊 After 30 of 62 Rounds
The season has now passed the halfway mark, with 32 rounds still remaining. The playoff line at 16th place, the Friendly Cup positions from 17th–22nd, King's Cup positions 23rd–26th, and the bottom two relegation places will all become increasingly important as the season progresses.
