Coquimbo Unido (11) vs FC Köln (14)2–1Coquimbo moves closer to the playoff zone
Cobresal (6) vs Viking FK (1)1–1First-place Viking is held to a draw

🥇 Viking FK Holds the Top Spot

The biggest matchup of the round was 1st-place Viking FK against 6th-place Cobresal. Viking had to settle for a 1–1 draw, earning one point rather than the three they would have wanted from a top-of-the-table clash.

Cobresal also takes a point, keeping itself firmly in the 2nd–9th promotion playoff zone.

🏆 Pirata FC Gets a Crucial Win

3rd-place Pirata FC defeated ASCE La Linguère 2–1. The victory gives Pirata three valuable points and keeps the club firmly in the direct-promotion conversation.

With Viking drawing, this was an opportunity for Pirata to gain ground on the league leader.

⚡ Audax Wins a Huge Top-Four Battle

One of the most significant results was Audax Italiano's 3–2 victory over AS Dakar Sacré-Cœur.

Dakar entered the match in 4th, while Audax was 8th, meaning this was particularly important for the playoff race. Audax now has an important three-point result against a team occupying one of the highest positions in the division.

🔵 Toronto Held by Leipzig

2nd-place Toronto FC was unable to collect all three points, drawing 2–2 with 19th-place RB Leipzig.

Toronto remains in a direct-promotion position based on the standings shown going into the round, but dropping two points against a team outside the promotion/playoff positions could prove significant over a 50-round season.

📈 Iquique Continues Its Playoff Push

Deportes Iquique, sitting 7th, defeated Casa Sports 2–1.

That gives Iquique three points and keeps the club comfortably within the 2nd–9th promotion playoff places. Casa Sports, meanwhile, remains outside the playoff positions.

🟢 Coquimbo Makes a Move

Coquimbo Unido (11th) defeated FC Köln (14th) 2–1.

This is an especially useful result for Coquimbo because 11th place is just outside the promotion-playoff places and currently represents a King's Cup position. Three points gives Coquimbo an opportunity to move toward the top nine in the rounds ahead.

⚠️ Defence Force Drops Points

9th-place Defence Force could only draw 2–2 with Dynamo Moscow, who entered the round in 26th.

For Defence Force, the result means another missed opportunity to strengthen its position inside the 2nd–9th playoff zone. Dynamo, meanwhile, gets a valuable point from a difficult matchup.

🟡 Middle and Lower Table Results

There were several other important results:

  • Shandong Luneng Taishan defeated AZ Alkmaar 2–1, giving 23rd-place Shandong a valuable three points.
  • SC Heerenveen defeated Club Deportivo Palestino 3–2 in a five-goal contest.
  • FC Union Berlin beat Raja 3–2 away from home.
  • PFC CSKA Moscow and FC Akron Tolyatti played to a 2–2 draw.
  • Guangzhou Evergrande and Atlético Ottawa also finished 2–2.
  • Chaco Petrolero and Excelsior Rotterdam shared the points in a 1–1 draw.

📌 Round 18 Takeaway

Round 18 was particularly significant at the top. Viking FK remained in 1st despite being held by Cobresal, while Pirata FC and Toronto FC both remained among the leading teams. Audax Italiano's win over 4th-place AS Dakar Sacré-Cœur was one of the round's biggest results because it directly affected the promotion-playoff battle.

Further down the table, Coquimbo Unido's victory could become important as the club attempts to climb from 11th into the 2nd–9th playoff positions.

With 32 rounds still remaining, the standings can change dramatically, and there is no relegation battle to worry about—meaning the focus throughout the rest of the season is on direct promotion, the promotion playoffs, and the Friendly and King's Cup positions.
