Premier World League 2026 — Group A Round 33 Recap

Round 33 of the Premier World League 2026 season is complete, and the halfway point is now firmly in the rearview mirror. With 33 of 62 matches played and 29 games remaining, the pressure is beginning to rise throughout Group A.

Round 33 produced one of the most dominant victories of the season, several crucial playoff battles, and some major movement among teams fighting for the World Cup of Clubs, Friendly Cup, King's Cup, and survival.

💥 Valencia Destroys San Jose 12–0!

The headline result of Round 33 was an unbelievable performance from Valencia (2), who demolished San Jose (26) by a staggering 12–0.

This wasn't simply a three-point victory—it was a statement from one of the league's top contenders.

Valencia entered the match sitting 2nd, firmly inside the top-four World Cup of Clubs qualification zone. A twelve-goal explosion could also provide a massive boost to their goal difference as the race at the top continues.

For San Jose, however, the result is disastrous. They were already sitting in the King's Cup positions (23–26) and now have a huge battle ahead of them with 29 matches still remaining.

Valencia 12–0 San Jose

🔥 Cienciano Crushes Bolognesi

Cienciano (4) continued their excellent campaign with an emphatic 6–1 victory over Bolognesi (12).

The result is particularly impressive considering Bolognesi entered the match comfortably inside the playoff positions.

Cienciano remain in the World Cup of Clubs top four, while Bolognesi suffer a significant setback in their attempt to remain among the top 16.

Bolognesi 1–6 Cienciano

🟢 Universitario Wins Peruvian Battle

Universitario (6) picked up another important victory, defeating Chankas CYC (9) 4–2.

This was a major playoff-zone matchup, with both teams starting inside the top nine. Universitario's victory strengthens their position among the league's leading teams, while Chankas lose valuable ground in the playoff race.

With only 29 games remaining, matches between playoff contenders are becoming increasingly important.

Universitario 4–2 Chankas CYC

🇵🇪 Alianza Lima Beats Vancouver

Alianza Lima (15) delivered an important 4–2 victory over Vancouver Whitecaps (13).

Both sides are battling around the playoff zone, making this a particularly valuable three points for Alianza.

At 15th, Alianza are still inside the coveted 1–16 playoff positions, but they cannot afford to relax. Vancouver also remain within striking distance of the playoff picture.

Alianza Lima 4–2 Vancouver Whitecaps

🇲🇽 Cruz Azul Edges Chelsea

Cruz Azul (10) traveled to face Chelsea (24) and came away with a narrow 2–1 victory.

⚔️ Arsenal Stuns Manchester United

One of the round's biggest surprises came at Old Trafford.

Arsenal (21) defeated Manchester United (11) 2–1, taking three enormous points in their attempt to climb toward the playoff places.

Manchester United entered the match inside the top 16, but this defeat could prove costly in such a competitive middle of the table.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are now showing signs that they could make a serious push from the Friendly Cup zone (17–22) toward the playoffs.

Manchester United 1–2 Arsenal

🔵 Sporting Cristal Handles São Paulo

Sporting Cristal (3) continued their excellent season with a convincing 4–1 victory over São Paulo (25).

Cristal entered Round 33 sitting third and remain one of the league's strongest teams.

São Paulo, who are in the King's Cup positions, couldn't reproduce their Round 32 offensive explosion against Manchester United.

Sporting Cristal 4–1 São Paulo

🇨🇦 Montreal Impact Takes Down Calgary

Montreal Impact (30) earned an impressive 4–1 victory over Calgary FC (28).

Both teams entered the match outside the playoff picture, making this an important battle toward the lower end of the standings.

Montreal's four-goal performance gives them some much-needed momentum as they try to escape the bottom portion of the table.

Montreal Impact 4–1 Calgary FC

🇨🇱 Universidad de Chile Beats Libertad

Universidad de Chile (23) picked up three important points with a 2–1 victory over Libertad (27).

Universidad de Chile entered the round in the King's Cup zone, so this victory gives them a chance to begin climbing toward the Friendly Cup positions and eventually the playoffs.

Universidad de Chile 2–1 Libertad

🤝 César Vallejo and Deportivo Cali Draw

César Vallejo (16) and Deportivo Cali (5) battled to a 3–3 draw.

This was an excellent result for Vallejo against one of the league's elite teams.

Vallejo entered the match occupying the final playoff position at 16th, so earning a point against 5th-place Cali could be extremely valuable.

For Deportivo Cali, however, dropping two points in the top-six race is a missed opportunity.

César Vallejo 3–3 Deportivo Cali

🇭🇰 Hong Kong FC Defeats Real Racing

Hong Kong FC (7) continued their strong campaign by defeating Real Racing (19) 3–1.

Hong Kong remains firmly inside the playoff zone, while Real Racing is currently battling in the Friendly Cup positions.

Hong Kong FC 3–1 Real Racing

🤯 Sport Boys Held by Feyenoord

League leaders Sport Boys (1) were unable to take all three points against Feyenoord (20), settling for a 3–3 draw.

This is a huge point for Feyenoord against the team sitting at the top of the table.

For Sport Boys, though, it is two points dropped in the title race. With Valencia and Sporting Cristal both winning convincingly, the battle at the summit remains fascinating.

Sport Boys 3–3 Feyenoord

🟡 Santa Fe Wins at Pegasus

Santa Fe (19) earned an important 3–2 road victory over Pegasus (30).

Santa Fe are currently in the Friendly Cup zone, and these three points could help them close the gap toward the top 16.

Pegasus remain near the bottom and need a strong run of results to escape the danger area.

Pegasus 2–3 Santa Fe

🇨🇴 Deportivo Pereira Beats Saprissa

Deportivo Pereira (22) picked up a crucial 3–1 victory over Deportivo Saprissa (17).

This was an important Friendly Cup battle. Pereira entered the match 22nd and Saprissa 17th, meaning both sides desperately needed points.

Pereira now have valuable momentum in their attempt to climb the table.

Deportivo Saprissa 1–3 Deportivo Pereira

🚨 Atlético Grau Smashes Southam

Atlético Grau (14) continued their playoff campaign with an impressive 4–1 victory over Southam (32).

Grau remain inside the top 16 and picked up exactly the type of three points a playoff contender needs against a struggling opponent.

Southam, meanwhile, remain at the very bottom of the table and are now firmly in the relegation battle.

Southam 1–4 Atlético Grau

😬 Aucas Destroys Danubio

Aucas (8) delivered a massive 6–1 victory over Danubio (31).

Aucas remain comfortably inside the playoff zone, while Danubio's situation is becoming increasingly serious.

Danubio entered the match sitting just above the relegation positions and were unable to capitalize on the opportunity to pick up points.

Danubio 1–6 Aucas

📊 Qualification Picture After Round 33

🏆 World Cup of Clubs — Positions 1–4

The top four remain the most prestigious positions in the league:

  1. Sport Boys
  2. Valencia
  3. Sporting Cristal
  4. Cienciano

All four teams remain in excellent positions to qualify for the World Cup of Clubs.

Valencia's extraordinary 12–0 victory and Cienciano's 6–1 win make the top-four battle particularly interesting.

⚽ Playoff Zone — Positions 1–16

The top 16 qualify for the playoffs, and several teams had important results in Round 33.

Among the playoff contenders:

  • Universitario strengthened their position with a 4–2 win.
  • Cruz Azul defeated Chelsea 2–1.
  • Aucas crushed Danubio 6–1.
  • Atlético Grau beat Southam 4–1.
  • Alianza Lima moved forward with a 4–2 victory.
  • César Vallejo earned a valuable point against Deportivo Cali.
  • Manchester United suffered a setback against Arsenal.

The battle around positions 13–16 is especially important because one bad run could quickly send a team into the Friendly Cup places.

🟡 Friendly Cup — Positions 17–22

Positions 17–22 qualify for the Friendly Cup.

Teams such as Arsenal, Santa Fe, Real Racing, Feyenoord, and Deportivo Pereira are all looking upward.

Arsenal's win at Manchester United was perhaps the biggest result for a team trying to escape this section of the standings.

Feyenoord also deserves credit for holding 1st-place Sport Boys to a 3–3 draw.

🟠 King's Cup — Positions 23–26

Positions 23–26 qualify for the King's Cup.

Universidad de Chile, Chelsea, São Paulo, and San Jose are among the teams fighting in this section.

Universidad de Chile's win over Libertad provides some momentum, while São Paulo and Chelsea both suffered defeats.

San Jose's 12–0 loss to Valencia was easily the worst result of the round.

🚨 Relegation Battle

The bottom two positions are relegation spots, making the battle at the bottom just as important as the title race.

Southam (32) remain in serious trouble after losing 4–1 to Atlético Grau.

Danubio (31) also suffered a nightmare result, losing 6–1 to Aucas.

With 29 matches still remaining, neither team is mathematically doomed, but both need a dramatic turnaround.
