Group A Round 36 Recap – Premier World League

The final round of Group A delivered plenty of excitement as teams fought for their last chance to climb the table.

Universitario (PER) finished the campaign on top with 84 points, capping off an outstanding season. They closed strong with another win, showing why they’ve been the most consistent force all year. Fellow Peruvian side Cienciano (PER) also impressed, finishing just one point behind on 83 points, keeping the title race alive right to the end.

Sporting Cristal (PER) secured third with 82 points, narrowly edging Spanish giants Valencia (SPA) who wrapped up their season in fourth with 80 points. These top four were separated by only four points, highlighting just how competitive the group was at the top.

Further down, Santa Fe (COL), Barcelona (SPA), and Hong Kong FC (HK) rounded out the top seven, each finishing strong and firmly in the top half of the standings. Manchester United (UK) managed an eighth-place finish on 63 points, a respectable close despite some mid-season inconsistency.

On the flip side, the bottom of the table told a different story. Olmedo (ECU) and Aucas (ECU) both struggled, finishing in 31st and 32nd place, respectively. Aucas ended on just 15 points with a -47 goal difference, while Olmedo closed with 23 points. Both sides faced relegation after a difficult campaign.

Meanwhile, Real Racing (SPA), Sao Paulo (BRA), and Southam (UK) also landed in the relegation zone, unable to find the form needed to climb out of trouble in the final rounds.

Overall, Group A’s Round 36 locked in the standings with Peru dominating the top three, Spain and Colombia making strong showings, and a tight relegation battle that ended with heartbreak for several clubs.
