League III Group D Round 8 Recap

Here’s the full recap of Group D after Round 8 of League III play:

🔝 Top of the Table

L.D.U. Quito (ECU) remain on top with 17 points after a strong showing. They’ve been remarkably consistent, with only one defeat in 8 matches and a solid +12 goal difference. Their balanced form both home and away keeps them in control of the group.

Club Plaza Colonia de Deportes (URU) climb to 2nd place (15 pts), just two points off the lead. They’ve been excellent defensively, conceding only 4 goals in 8 matches—the best defense in the group.

Always Ready (BOL) sit in 3rd (17 pts), level with L.D.U. Quito on points but behind on goal difference. They remain unbeaten at home and continue to look like one of the toughest opponents in the group.

⚔️ Chasing Pack

Mushuc Runa S.C. (ECU) slipped down to 4th (16 pts) despite being just a point off the leaders. Their attack is the strongest in the group so far with 17 goals scored, but a couple of away defeats have cost them valuable ground.

Talleres de Córdoba (ARG) round out the top five with 14 pts, holding steady after a mix of results.

Blooming (BOL) and Club Destroyers (BOL) are not far behind with 14 and 13 pts respectively. Blooming in particular have been solid at home, winning all 4 of their matches there.

⚖️ Mid-Table Struggles

Bucha (UKR) sit in 8th (13 pts), showing resilience but struggling to keep pace with the top sides.
San Lorenzo de Almagro (ARG) are in 9th (12 pts), still battling inconsistency, with a poor away record dragging them down.

Independiente del Valle (ECU) and Deportivo Táchira (VEN) both sit on 11 pts, occupying mid-table positions. They’ve had flashes of brilliance but have been unable to string results together.

Defensa y Justicia (ARG) and Metropolitanos F.C. (VEN) are locked on 10 pts, needing to improve if they want to break into the top half.

⬇️ Lower End of the Table

Bentín Tacna Heroica (PER) have only 9 pts, but their away struggles (0W 2D 2L) have left them stranded in 14th.
Adelads IK (SWE) also sit on 9 pts but with a troubling -9 GD, hinting at defensive weaknesses.

R.S.C. Anderlecht (BEL) and Zamora F.C. (VEN) each have 8 and 6 pts. Both clubs are underperforming compared to expectations and need a turnaround fast.

🚨 Bottom of the Table

The relegation battle is already taking shape:

  • Centro Atlético Fénix (URU)5 pts, struggling to pick up wins.

  • AIK Fotboll (SWE)4 pts, with the worst defensive record (25 goals conceded).

  • Arameisk-Syrianska IF (SWE) – bottom with just 2 pts, still winless after 8 matches.

🔮 Outlook

Group D remains one of the tightest groups, with just 4 points separating 1st from 4th. L.D.U. Quito, Always Ready, Plaza Colonia, and Mushuc Runa look like the main contenders for promotion spots, while the fight at the bottom is heating up between AIK, Fénix, and Arameisk-Syrianska.
