League III Group B Round 12 Recap

Here’s the Group B – Round 12 Recap for League III!

⚽ Group B – Round 12 Recap | League III

FC Gloria Buzău (ROU) stay on top of the table with 24 points after grinding out another positive result. Their consistency (7W, 3D, 2L) and strong defensive record (20 conceded) keep them narrowly ahead in a very tight race.

RC Celta de Vigo (SPA) are right on their heels with 23 points, just one behind. They’ve been lethal going forward (26 goals) and secured an important win this round to stay firmly in the title fight.

Rayo Vallecano (SPA) and Villarreal CF (SPA) are tied on 22 points, holding 3rd and 4th place respectively. Rayo’s attack (27 goals) has been one of the best in the group, while Villarreal have been difficult to beat at home.

Hvidovre IF (DNK) and Royal Charleroi S.C. (BEL) both sit on 19 points, rounding out the top 6 contenders. Hvidovre have been solid at home, while Charleroi remain unbeaten at home but struggle badly on the road (0W, 0D, 5L).

The mid-table pack remains very congested:

  • FC Helsingør (DNK) (18 pts) and C.D. Santa Clara (POR) (17 pts) are still within touching distance of the top half.

  • FC Porto (POR) and AC Horsens (DNK) are tied on 16 points, but both need more consistency after recent winless streaks.

  • Royal Antwerp F.C. (BEL) sit on 15 points, hanging just outside the top 10.

The bottom half is still very unsettled:

  • AFC Unirea Slobozia (ROU) and SK Super Nova (LVA) both have 17 and 15 points respectively, showing they can still climb with the right momentum.

  • Canadian (URU) (15 pts) and FC Dinamo București (ROU) (12 pts) hover dangerously near the relegation zone.

  • BFC Daugavpils (LVA) also sit on 12 points, struggling defensively with 32 goals conceded.

At the very bottom:

  • KAA Gent (BEL) (11 pts) and Rēzeknes FA/BJSS (LVA) (10 pts) continue to falter, with Gent losing four of their last five.

  • S.L. Benfica (POR) are shockingly in 19th with just 7 points, a massive underperformance for such a big club.

  • Violette Athletic Club (HTI) remain rock bottom with 6 points and the league’s worst defense (43 conceded), winless in their last five.

🔑 Key Takeaways:

  • The top 4 are separated by just 2 points (Gloria Buzău, Celta, Rayo, Villarreal) – setting up an intense title chase.

  • Hvidovre and Charleroi are hanging onto the top 6, but their away form could cost them.

  • The mid-table battle (Helsingør to Antwerp) is wide open with only 3 points separating 7th from 11th.

  • Benfica’s collapse is the biggest shock – sitting in the relegation zone after 12 rounds.

  • Violette’s defense continues to leak goals at an alarming rate, and survival looks unlikely.
