  • Cusco FC (PER) also ended on 80 points, their tight defense (+52 GD) almost carrying them to the top, but they’ll have to settle for 2nd place.

  • AEK Athens (GRE) secured 3rd place with 79 points, just one behind the leaders, after winning their last two matches to stay in the fight.

  • Pyramids FC (EGY) followed in 4th with 79 points as well, showing great balance between home and away form.

  • Sydney FC (NZ) closed out the top five on 74 points, their away strength (28 pts on the road) proving key.

European Spots & Chasers:

  • Bayern Munich (GER) surged late to finish 6th on 74 points, tied with Sydney but behind on goal difference.

  • Real Madrid (SPA) and Werder Bremen (GER) both finished strong seasons in 7th and 8th, each topping 70 points.

  • Wolfsburg (GER) and Liverpool (UK) rounded out the top 10, both hitting the 60+ point mark with consistent home performances.

Mid-Table Pack:

  • Deportivo Municipal (PER), Argentinos Juniors (ARG), San Martín (PER), Estudiantes (ARG), and Silkeborg (DK) all landed in mid-table safety, ending in the 50–59 point range.

  • SC Freiburg (GER) just cleared relegation danger, finishing 16th on 50 points, after picking up key wins in the final stretch.

Relegation Scrap:

  • Binacional (PER) and PSV (NEA) both slumped badly, finishing 17th and 18th, barely above the drop on goal difference and just 48 points each.

  • Atlético Ciclón (BOL) and Spartmani (MC) couldn’t escape relegation, ending with 47 points and falling into the danger zone.

  • Colo Colo (CHI) and Broncos (HON) joined them in the bottom five, both finishing with 43 points, let down by weak away records.

The Drop Zone:

  • Huracán (URU), Alianza Atletico (PER), Cesar Vallejo (PER), Chievo (ITA), and El Nacional (ECU) all finished between 40–42 points, sealing relegation after inconsistent runs.

  • Kashima Antlers (JAP), Comunicaciones (GT), Real Sociedad (SPA), Lokomotiv Moscow (RUS), and Western City Wanderers (AUS) made up the bottom five.

    • Western City Wanderers finished dead last with just 29 points and a -48 goal difference, marking one of the toughest seasons in the group.

Key Takeaway: Group D was one of the closest finishes in the league — the top four were separated by just one point! DC United claimed the title on goal difference, while Cusco, AEK Athens, and Pyramids all narrowly missed out. At the bottom, a brutal relegation fight dragged in nearly half the table, with Wanderers, Lokomotiv, and Kashima suffering the harshest campaigns.
