Premier World League Group D Round 34 Recap

Here’s a full recap of Group D – Round 34 of the Premier World League play!

🔝 Top of the Table

  • AEK Athens (GRE) are crowned Group D winners with 76 points, edging out Bayern Munich on goal difference (+79 vs. +71). Their 3W-2L finish in the last 5 games showed a strong but slightly shaky end to the campaign.

  • Bayern Munich (GER) also finished on 76 points, but that inferior goal difference cost them the top spot. Still, they had the best attack in the group with 108 goals scored.

  • Sydney FC (NZ) grabbed third place with 71 points, staying consistent with 4 wins in their last 5.

  • Cusco FC (PER) wrapped up fourth place with 70 points, just one behind Sydney, cementing themselves among the elite.

⚔️ Chasing Pack

  • Pyramids FC (EGY) (5th, 63 pts) held onto a strong upper-table position, although they ended with just 2 wins in their last 5.

  • DC United (USA) (6th, 62 pts) slipped slightly, losing 3 of their final 5, and just missed out on the top five.

  • Real Madrid (SPA) (7th, 58 pts) closed out respectably but were never really in contention for promotion.

  • Werder Bremen (GER) (8th, 56 pts) matched Madrid’s point tally but finished below on goal difference.

  • Wolfsburg (GER) and Liverpool (UK) rounded out the top 10 with 55 and 53 points respectively, staying competitive but short of the leaders.

📉 Mid-Table Struggles

  • Teams like San Martin (PER), Argentino Juniors (ARG), and Binacional (PER) hovered around the 45–47 point mark, safe but inconsistent.

  • Estudiantes (ARG) ended on 45 points with a neutral goal difference (0), showing just how even their season was.

  • SC Freiburg (GER) (43 pts) closed with a strong 4-match unbeaten run, while PSV (NEATH) and Huracan (URU) finished steady but uninspired in mid-table.

⚠️ Bottom Half Battles

  • Spartmani (MC) (42 pts) and Colo Colo (CHI) (41 pts) narrowly avoided the drop zone.

  • Cesar Vallejo (PER) (40 pts) also just scraped clear with a final-day draw.

  • The likes of Broncos (HON), Atlético Ciclón (BOL), and Kashima Antlers (JAP) all ended in the 30s, with poor away records dragging them down.

❌ Relegation Zone

  • El Nacional (ECU) (36 pts), Chievo (ITA) (36 pts), and Comunicaciones (GT) (36 pts) all suffered the drop, plagued by defensive frailties (-20, -13, -20 GD respectively).

  • Alianza Atlético (PER) (32 pts) and Real Sociedad (SPA) (32 pts) also couldn’t escape relegation despite late-season fightbacks.

  • Lokomotiv Moscow (RUS) (30 pts) fell apart defensively (82 goals conceded).

  • Western City Wanderer (AUS) (23 pts) finished bottom of the group, with the worst attack (57 scored) and joint-worst defense (111 conceded).
