League II 2026 Group A Round 14 Recap

League II – Group A

Round 14 Recap (2026 Season)

After 14 of 46 rounds, League II Group A is starting to take real shape, with promotion contenders pulling away, the playoff race tightening, and danger looming at the bottom.

🥇 Promotion Race

Chankas CYC (PER) remain firmly on top of the table and currently hold the automatic promotion spot to the World Premier League. With 32 points from 14 matches and an impressive run of recent form, they’ve set the early benchmark for the division. Consistency has been their biggest strength so far, especially at home.

🔥 Playoff Positions (2nd–9th)

The fight for playoff qualification is intense:

  • AC Milan (ITA) and Pachuca (MEX) are locked just behind the leaders, both sitting on 30 points, keeping promotion pressure high.

  • Vancouver Whitecaps and Ajax (NEATH) round out a strong top five, each well-positioned but needing consistency to stay clear of the chasing pack.

  • Fulham (UK), Cartaginés (CRC), Caracas FC (VEN), and Fortaleza (BRA) currently complete the playoff zone (places 2–9).

With only a handful of points separating 4th from 9th, a single good or bad run could dramatically reshape the standings over the next few rounds.

⚔️ Cup Qualification Zone

  • 10th place – FC Copenhagen (DK) currently sit in the Friendly Cup qualification spot.

  • 11th place – Botafogo (BRA) occupy the King’s Cup position.

Both clubs are within striking distance of the playoffs, meaning these cup spots are far from settled and could easily change hands.

⚠️ Relegation Battle

At the bottom, the danger zone is becoming clearer:

  • FC Midtjylland (DK) and Defence Force (TB) are currently the bottom two and would be relegated to League III if the season ended now.

  • Raja (MOR) and Dalian Shide (CHN) are also under pressure, hovering just above the relegation line with little margin for error.

📊 Season Context

  • Rounds played: 14 / 46

  • Still to play: 32 rounds

  • Plenty of time remains for major shifts, but early trends—promotion favorites, playoff chaos, and relegation struggles—are now clearly emerging.
