⚽ League 2 – Group D
2026 Season • Round 11 Recap
(46-round season)
After 11 rounds, Group D is shaping up as a high-quality division, with a strong leader at the top, a crowded playoff zone, and early relegation pressure beginning to mount.
🔝 Automatic Promotion Spot
Corinthians (BRA) sit alone at the top with 26 points and currently hold the automatic promotion place to the World Premier League. Their strong attacking output and consistent results have set the early benchmark in Group D.
🎯 Playoff Positions (2nd–9th)
The fight for playoff qualification is already intense:
-
Aston Villa (UK) remain close to the summit and look like Corinthians’ main challengers.
-
FC Nantes (FRA) continue to show solid form and are firmly entrenched in the promotion picture.
-
Guayaquil City (ECU) and El Nacional (ECU) keep Ecuador well represented in the upper half.
-
Unión La Calera (CHI) and Club Destroyers (BOL) are holding strong in the middle of the playoff zone.
-
Al Masry SC (EGP) currently close out the playoff places in 9th, but with little margin for error.
With so many teams packed together, a single strong run could dramatically shift the standings.
🟡 Cup Qualification Places
-
Banfield (ARG) sit in 10th, earning the Friendly Cup spot.
-
Real Sociedad (SPA) follow in 11th, which currently qualifies them for the King’s Cup.
Both sides remain close enough to the playoff line to dream of climbing higher.
🔻 Relegation Zone
The relegation battle is already heating up:
-
AS Monaco (FRA) and Canonn Yaoundé (CMR) occupy the bottom two positions and would be relegated to League III if the season ended now.
-
R.R.C. Genk (BEL) and Bella Vista (URU) sit just above the danger zone and remain under heavy pressure.
With 35 rounds still to play, survival is far from decided.
