League II 2026 Group D Round 2 Recap

League 2 – Group D

2026 Season | Round 2 Recap

Round 2 has wrapped up in League 2 Group D, and this group is already proving to be one of the most competitive sections in the division. With a 46-round season ahead, early consistency is beginning to separate frontrunners from the chasing pack.

🔝 Automatic Promotion Position

Club Destroyers (BOL) lead the table after two perfect performances, sitting on 6 points with an impressive goal difference. Their strong home and away form places them in 1st place, which currently secures automatic promotion to the World Premier League.

🎯 Playoff Places (2nd–9th)

Hot on their heels are El Nacional (ECU), Guayaquil City (ECU), Far Rabat (MOR), RC Nantes (FRA), Corinthians (BRA), Unión La Calera (CHI), and Alto Perú (URU). All are locked into the playoff zone, with minimal separation between them as goal difference already begins to matter.

Several sides in this group have shown attacking intent, suggesting the playoff race will remain tight well into the season.

⚠️ Just Outside the Playoffs

SV Meppen (GER) currently sit in 10th place, earning a spot in the Friendly Cup, while Rio Ave (POR) in 11th would qualify for the King’s Cup. Both clubs remain within touching distance of the playoff positions and could move up quickly with a strong Round 3.

🔻 Relegation Zone

At the bottom end of the table, As Mónaco (FRA) and Canon Deportivo (CMR) occupy the final two places and are currently on course for relegation to League III. Early defensive issues have put pressure on both sides, but with 44 matches still to play, there is plenty of time to turn things around.

🏁 Early Season Outlook

With only 2 rounds completed, Group D remains wide open. Leaders will aim to build momentum, while teams near the bottom must respond quickly to avoid being drawn into a season-long relegation battle.

Round 3 should bring more twists—and potentially major movement—across the standings.
