League II 2026 Group B Round 7 Recap

League II – Group B

2026 Season • Round 7 Recap

After seven rounds, Vasco da Gama (BRA) have grabbed top spot, and right now that puts them in the automatic promotion place to the World Premier League. With a strong points haul and a solid goal difference, Vasco look composed and efficient — not flashy every week, but effective. If they keep this pace, they’ll be tough to knock off the summit.

Close behind are Hannover 96 (GER) and Atalanta (ITA), both firmly inside the playoff zone (2nd–9th) and showing excellent form. Atalanta in particular look dangerous going forward, while Hannover have been one of the most consistent sides home and away.

Crowded Playoff Pack (2nd–9th)

Group B is already shaping up to be brutally competitive in the playoff places:

  • Inter (ITA) and FC Schalke 04 (GER) remain right in the mix, with Inter showing one of the league’s best attacks.

  • Deportivo FAS, Lille OSC, Real Betis, and Atlético Mineiro complete the current playoff lineup.

  • Lille and Betis are trending upward after shaky starts, while Atlético Mineiro are hanging on despite recent stumbles.

With eight playoff spots available, this section of the table is tight — one good or bad run could swing a team several places.

Cup Qualification Watch

  • 10th place – Busan I’Park (CSK) currently sits in the Friendly Cup slot.

  • 11th place – FC KFA (BRA) holds the King’s Cup position.

These spots are separated by fine margins, and both clubs will be eyeing a late push toward the playoffs while trying to avoid slipping further down.

Trouble at the Bottom

The early relegation picture isn’t pretty for a few sides:

  • Cagliari Calcio (ITA) and FC Porto (POR) are currently in the bottom two, which would mean relegation to League III if the season ended now.

  • Porto, in particular, are already under heavy pressure with a poor goal difference and no room for prolonged mistakes.

Just above them, Philadelphia Ukrainian, Africa Sports FC, and ACF Fiorentina are far from safe — one rough stretch could pull them straight into the danger zone.

Early Takeaways

Seven rounds into a 46-round season, Group B is already delivering drama:

  • Vasco da Gama set the early promotion pace

  • The playoff race (2nd–9th) is packed with big names and little separation

  • 10th and 11th offer cup lifelines, but nothing more

  • The bottom two are already in survival mode

Long season ahead, but Round 7 has drawn the early battle lines. In Group B, consistency — not reputation — is going to decide everything. ⚽🔥
