League 2 – Group B
2026 Season | Round 2 Recap
After two rounds of action, League 2 Group B is already shaping up to be one of the most competitive sections in the 2026 campaign. With a full 46-round season ahead, early form is important—but far from decisive.
🔝 Promotion Spot
Busan I’Park FC (SK) take the early lead after two matches, sitting on 4 points with a positive goal difference. Their balanced home and away performances have placed them in 1st position, which currently earns automatic promotion to the World Premier League.
🎯 Playoff Zone (2nd–9th)
Just behind the leaders is a tightly packed group that includes Hannover 96, Blackburn Rovers, Atlético Mineiro, Real Betis, Charlton Athletic, Desna, Deportivo FAS, and FC Schalke 04. All remain firmly in the playoff positions, separated by fine margins in goal difference and results.
With several teams showing strong attacking potential, this section of the table is expected to be highly volatile over the coming rounds.
⚠️ Borderline Positions
Vasco da Gama (BRA) currently sit in 10th place, which would see them qualify for the Friendly Cup, while Atalanta BC (ITA) in 11th are positioned for the King’s Cup. Both clubs are within striking distance of the playoff places and could quickly move up with a strong Round 3 showing.
🔻 Relegation Battle
At the foot of the table, Spartak (GRE) and FC Porto (POR) occupy the final two spots and are currently slated for relegation to League III. Defensive issues and lack of points have put pressure on both sides, though plenty of time remains to mount a recovery.
🏁 Season Outlook
With only 2 of 46 rounds completed, Group B remains wide open. Early leaders will aim to pull away, while traditional heavyweights lower down the table will be eager to avoid being dragged into prolonged relegation trouble.
Round 3 promises more movement—and potentially the first major shake-up in the promotion and playoff race.
