🏆 League 2 – Group A
2026 Season – Round 19 Recap (46 Rounds Total)
We’re officially past the one-third mark of the season, and after 19 rounds, Group A is delivering drama at both ends of the table.
🔝 Automatic Promotion Race
1️⃣ Chankas CYC (PER) – 45 pts
Chankas CYC are setting the pace in Group A. With 14 wins from 19 matches and a massive +30 goal difference (58 scored!), they currently hold the automatic promotion spot to the World Premier League. Their attack has been the most explosive in the division so far.
But the pressure is real:
-
2️⃣ Vancouver Whitecaps – 41 pts
-
3️⃣ Pachuca – 40 pts
Just five points separate 1st and 3rd, and with 27 matches still to play, nothing is secured yet.
🎯 Playoff Zone (2nd–9th)
As it stands, the playoff places are occupied by:
-
Vancouver Whitecaps – 41 pts
-
Pachuca – 40 pts
-
AC Milan – 36 pts
-
Botafogo – 36 pts
-
Fulham – 35 pts
-
Fortaleza – 34 pts
-
FC Copenhagen – 32 pts
-
Caracas FC – 32 pts
The race from 4th to 9th is incredibly tight — just four points separate six teams. One winning streak could launch a club into the top three, while a bad run could see them drop out of the playoff picture entirely.
🏆 Special Qualification Spots
-
10th – Cartaginés (31 pts) → Friendly Cup qualification
-
11th – Ajax (29 pts) → King’s Cup qualification
Both are well within reach of the playoff zone and remain serious contenders to break into the top nine.
⚠️ Relegation Battle
Currently in the drop zone to League III:
-
23rd – FC Midtjylland – 11 pts
-
24th – Defence Force – 7 pts
Defence Force are in deep trouble, already struggling with a -30 goal difference. Midtjylland also face a major uphill battle with limited points and defensive issues.
Just above the relegation zone:
-
Dalian Shide – 12 pts
-
Olmedo – 14 pts
-
Raja – 15 pts
The bottom six are in serious danger, and survival will depend on immediate improvement.
📊 Mid-Table Watch
Teams like Atlético Indio (25 pts), Bahia (24 pts), Tout Puissant Mazembe (23 pts), Sol de América (23 pts), and Olympiakos (22 pts) are stuck in a volatile middle zone. They’re not safe — but a good stretch of results could pull them into playoff contention.
